  • Hi Munchin - I'm pleased to read you had a lovely time with your family. I wouldn't worry too much about the scales - you'll soon get back on the straight and narrow.

I've not heard that it's now the norm to gift money if somebody has passed their driving test! I can understand that some parents like to help fund a car purchase for their children, but unless it is your son/daughter I would just send a congratulatory card! It's getting rather silly these days with all the different categories that you now have buy for or gift money!

    Morning

Hi SS - I find it strange all the various categories of cards that you can buy for any eventuality nowadays.

Met niece on the road on Friday …..and she blinded myself and the car in front because she didn't dip her headlights. Think I will take her card back off her :D

So I lost 1lb this week and I'm back on form and I'm now in the 30 odd lb to lose category...just. I was then out for breakfast on Sat (gift voucher) and went to friends house and drank a bit too much :o but as lent is coming up all my friends are quitting drinking so it will be a dry few months. Will save money and liver :).

I went out for a run yesterday morning and felt amazing. I have registered for 2 x 5ks with my running buddies/friends and feel like the old me more and more as times goes on. My sister says that it is like I put a pause on my life while I was with ex and I've now just lifted the pause button.

Guess I better get on with the work thing

Thanks Lilith - hopefully the scales will continue to head in the right direction :).

This week has been very busy with 2 volunteer things, work, running and meeting friends for coffee/lunch. I've sat up late the last few nights as I got caught up in either a book or tv, which hasn't been great for sleeping.

It's a gorgeous sunny day and I had a meeting in a beautiful conservatory - which was unusual and surprisingly warm. My plan today is to catch up on this manic week and try and stay a bit later as I promised nephews pizza for tea so I will pick it up on the way home.

This weekend I have another volunteer thing tomorrow (last until the end of the month) and that is pretty much it for the weekend. Might catch up on that missing sleep. Next week I am meeting friends for lunch on Wed and then a running thing on Tues. All very busy. Hopefully the lighter evenings will start to properly creep in and I will start taking the pup for a few evening walks and that might help the pair of us with the weight.

Money front - 1st of the month so everything has shot out of the account but at least the savings are looking healthier :D
  • I'm glad you feel more like the real you now that you're not with ex any more :T.

Well done on the running and the weight loss too :T.

    Have a lovely relaxing weekend.

Congrats from me too on the running and weight loss. :j

Re what your sister said about your ex - it's not until a toxic relationship ends that you wonder how you ever stuck it for so long! When I finished mine some years ago one of my best friends told me that when I was with my ex I acted like an alien had taken over my body! She said she was so glad to have the old me back again!:)

    Have a good weekend Munchin.

    Thanks SS & HHD.

SS - I totally understand what you are saying and my friends & family are so relieved but if you are in a bad relationship you just don’t see how much you change as a person to accommodate them. Onwards & upwards :)

Weight loss this week.... drum roll..... 0.25 of a lb :o. I didn’t declare it on the weight loss page as it was tiny. In the bad old eating disorder days, this plateau would have been a disaster but not anymore. Move on. When I looked at calories this week, apart from the weekend,I was spot on but I dropped my veg & fruit. This morning I prepped veg juice and fruit salad for week ahead to boost my nutrients.

Lent starts this week and I normally I’d give up choc & drink but I’ve pretty much done that with diet already. Will go to 6.30am mass tues - fri. I actually like the lent mass because I get to collect my thoughts before the madness of the day starts.
