    Evening

In the Xmas ads I should be all glam and socialising right now but I’m on the sofa curled up with a cup of tea and with pup and Mum is asleep in the corner :) - perfect Xmas.

Mum & I made Xmas dinner yesterday for 8 adults and 4 kids and today we made another proper Xmas dinner for 7 adults and 4 kids. Sister was here yesterday so helped out with the dishes etc but today she had to work so I ended up with the dishes. Dinner was lovely and family were great but glad the house is quiet now. We’re both a bit shattered.

Ex OH texted me on Friday to wish me a happy b’day and Xmas ... kind of odd. He’s made a point of not contacting me and now this but even when we were together he messed with my head.

I had a lovely Xmas and got new pjs, smellies and chocs.

I’m looking forward to the weekend as best friend is home and we are planning a lunch out.

I’m back at work tmw and Friday but at least I have mon & tues off.

    Afternoon,

It is a really quiet day here in work and I’ve just been blocked from MSE on my work server which is a pain ... I was trying to update my signature.

I’ve decided to have a Tilly Tidy pot so that I round down the change in my current account to my savings - 82p today. I have an annual expense fund which covers my heating oil (£500 odd), car insurance (approx £300), car service (£200) and car tax (£30)). Unfortunately it is sitting with very little in it at the moment so I need to get it filled as the car insurance is due in April.

I think the best thing to happen next year is that I’m no longer robbing Peter to pay Paul and I have money to cover these bills without having to raid the emergency fund.
  • Your big family Christmas sounds lovely and your presents sound good.

    Hi :hello:

Christmas is done and dusted for another year:). It was a bit emotional but looking forward now to the year ahead.

I went out for a run yesterday and then pup and I ventured a bit further today for a walk in a lovely park. Best buddy texted last night and she is picking me up tonight to go out for a few drinks. It’s not going to be a big or late night but it should be good.

Tomorrow I have an appointment for contacts in nearest big town - I’ve tried them before but one of my eyes gets annoyed but willing to try a new type.

We are heading to my brother’s house for New Year’s Day. As they came here for Xmas dinner they are returning the favour.:)

Thanks Lilith - hope you have a lovely year ahead as well :).

I'm a bit frustrated with myself as I've forgotten my password to Apple/iTunes and have locked myself out ….which I suppose saves me money.

Last night was great but I drank a wee bit too much - I wasn't drunk but head was a bit sore this morning. Brother texted to see if Mum and I wanted a lift tomorrow but I'm going to try for a dry January and see how that goes.

I chatted with my friends about my big holiday next year and they are going to let me know best flights etc. Although I will be a single traveller I'm staying with friends and will spend part of the time travelling with them.

Pup and I went for our usual run/waddle this morning and the park owners had brought their deer up to the top fence (for the kids at Xmas) it was just me and pup and no one else around and these beautiful deer - perfect morning.

I then popped into opticians and they are going to order me a weeks trial of new lenses and I will give that a go. Then I met my friends again in the afternoon and we went for a walk in local gardens. Pup is snoring beside me as the wee legs are walked of him today.

My brother and his family popped in for a pre New Years Day visit and ate loads of our chocolate which is great as I need a healthier year ahead than the past year - 3 stone to go ..gulp.

Well that is the last update for 2018 - not heading out but have glass of wine (last one for a while) and a good book and I'm sorted.

    Happy New Year :D

So last night was quite quiet but I was content. I had met my friends in the afternoon and family visited so sat up last night and seen the New Year in with a glass of wine and a book.

I've moved my December musings for the New Year into the next post so I can easily refer back and see what I achieved in 2019 (hopefully lots).

Today I started off the New Year a bit tired but I managed a walk with pup in the forest and 5 deer ran across our path which was so amazing and then I took out the headphones and just listened to the sounds in the forest. I got dressed up and have been to a kids birthday party already.

I'm now about to head out the door to brother's for New Year's day dinner.

After that Pjs will be on and I'm back to work tomorrow.

    Plans for 2019

    • At least 50% of debt gone (sub £2,000)
    • £3,000 for dream holiday & to be just home from dream holiday.
    • Emergency funds almost complete.
    • Become more frugal but not be a tight....
    • Stop impulse spending
    • Get back into running
    • Try to get out of bed earlier to have a relaxing start to the day (have no bother waking up but just like my bed too much :o)
    • Sort out my eating side and get back down to my healthier weight - according to scale I'm obese :o....bit harsh.
    • Facebook ban for all of January
    • Alcohol ban for January.
