Munchin's Marvellous Debt Busting Diary

Afternoon,
Still no loo last night but we have access to Aunty's house next door. The tiler has turned up today so hopefully the plumbing will start tmw or even later today. At least I'm getting healthier as I'm going to the gym in work to use their shower but I'm also doing a workout.
I knew it would be a bit spendy this week on lunches out but this is the week that suited all my old colleagues and friends to meet up and after this it wont be as intense. I have the Xmas market with a friend tomorrow and lunch with ex colleagues on Friday. I'm hoping the £22.98 I have tomorrow (if I don't spend anymore today) will cover dinner with her tomorrow and a quick march round the market and parking. Friday's lunch should be no more than £10 but I so don't want to finish Nov tenner a week challenge in the red.
Just remembered I am offering sis £10 towards dinner on Friday night and I can't see her saying no - so it looks like I will be borrowing out of Sat tenner a week. I should be able to save up my tenners next week.

Morning all,
I should be about the hit the road but as I don’t have to give nephew a lift I stayed in bed at bit longer. I’m hoping lots of people took today off and the traffic will be ok but that is a lot of wishful thinking.
Hi Crazy - I have lots of good intentions but then I scupper myself:o.
I met my friend yesterday and spent £15 odd at Xmas market, and £40 on diesel. I am meeting last lot of ex colleagues today and that should be an end of the spendy lunches or at least not all in one week. Tomorrow I have a nail appt, a volunteer thing and hopefully lots of sleep thing.
I got paid on Wed but I go by YNAB, so can’t touch it until tmw. I have only £3.67 budget and it will be at least £10 today....I will have to accept a minus for the challenge but that is better than normal. Fresh start tomorrow.

Morning :santa2:
Pinch punch first of the month and we have a flushing loo - all is right with the world.
I had done a post but I lost it so will have to try and remember what I said (I'm sure it was interesting:o). So bathroom peeps finished yesterday but this morning there is a leak on the join of the radiator so will have to call him back. I've not paid the final bit so that should probably encourage them to come back quickly and fix it. To be honest they were great and I had no problems with them. They did point out that the electrician said the house needed to be rewired. Last year I had said to Mum about rewiring and she said that it had been done not that long ago. I thought that was strange as I didn't remember it but I did live in England for a bit. It turns out it was rewired when the 'new' bedrooms were built....about 40 years ago. So once I have this debt paid off and the emergency fund built up then it's on to the rewiring.
I have a lot of things to do today and it's a bit spendy but not frivolous spendy I hope..

:j to the flushing loo!
I had to smile at your mum's estimate that the rewiring had been done "not that long ago." It's the sort of thing my dear mum would have said!:)

Glad it's all done, Munchin! That's so funny about your mum saying the rewiring wasn't done that long ago lol.0

Morning,
Yesterday was a spendy day but apart from getting nephew no2 a McDonalds I stuck to my list. I want all my direct debits to go out of my account so I can be sure YNAB and my bank agree and I haven’t missed something.
I popped in and paid the rest of the bathroom cost and he said it would probably cost £4,000 to do rewiring but he’s not an electrician. At least that’s a figure to aim towards...once the bathroom debt is cleared ...and I have some emergency funds. Nephew no2 had 2 showers yesterday so at least the bathroom has teenage approval
I’m stuggling a bit with my emotions and body at the moment but really don’t want to go back to therapist. I think I just took a lot on (break up, new job etc) and I need to go back to basics with eating.
I didn’t get everything on list of chores done yesterday but I can catch up today and tomorrow.

Afternoon,
I’ve been busy today but no spends thankfully. I decided to read some of my therapy notes and prepped some healthier stuff including roasted Brussels sprouts - yum:). I also went through the freezer and found 3 opened bags of frozen fruit that were forgotten about - I’m currently stewing them down.
Mum had emptied the hot press for the work men to get access to pipes. I sorted out a massive pile of blankets, sheets, duvets and put back what was needed.
I’m also in process of filling in a hole in the bathroom ceiling from the change of lights. I should finish it today and it will be able to paint it tomorrow.
Plans tmw-
- [STRIKE]Paint ceiling[/STRIKE]
- [STRIKE]Washout bathroom[/STRIKE]

Morning
Yesterday was so productive and I got so much tidying done including painting the bathroom ceiling. In the middle of cleaning and tidying the sun shone and highlighted the really dirty windows and doors. So hopefully I can get to them this Saturday if it’s a dry day.
Heading to the cinema tonight with nephew 2. I looked at the month ahead and it’s a bit busy and I haven’t listed everything yet but it’s a start.
Time to hit the road.
