They paid for this one and I have always liked it but it has got so slow since going onto Win10 and whenever there is an update it screws things up.

If the laptop is still mechanically sound, the aforementioned upgrades will make the laptop much faster than when it was new,
No more waiting for things to happen and no problem moving the laptop when in use, as the SSD has no moving parts, unlike a mechanical drive.

With Windows 10 Pro 64 bit, you can delay the six monthly feature updates. Security updates won't affect performance once you have fitted the solid state drive.

Yes, as far as I know its sound as a pound mechanically, only been having problems since Win10 reared its ugly head, love the laptop, hate Win 10.
I am definitely going to go ahead and try to upgrade it, nothing to lose as it is totally driving me up the wall at the moment, it is taking so long to do things and keeps coming up that whatever it is trying to do is not responding.
I looked at the disc change in your other post, that seems easy enough. Are the ones in this post better than the one in your earlier post?
How easy is upgrading the memory? I would be looking at at least the bigger one - the link to that provider has shops near to me, two of them do repairs, don't know how much they would charge to upgrade the memory.
I am coming to your neck of the woods in late Oct/Nov so if I got stuck......lol

It is ridiculously easy to pop in more RAM. Takes less than a minute. You don't actually need more than 4 GB of RAM once you've fitted the SSD, but it certainly won't hurt.

You don't need anyone to do it for you. It really is that simple.

Is 120 GB enough for you day to day? It is for me. I prefer the Lite-On.

What do you have installed at the moment Windows 10 Home or Pro? 32 bit or 64 bit?

You should check if they actually have the RAM stock in your local CEX, There is a stock checker on the page. Otherwise you can order it online from them with an extra £1.50 for postage.
Why are you sticking with Windows 10 if you don't like it? We can always reinstall Windows 7 Professional.to the SSD. But everything will be completely different with the upgrade and clean install.

Win 10 messes everything up when it updates but that could be because of being short of memory?
I presume it's win 10 home. It was the free one, I didn't really want to upgrade but it just did it. I don't know if it's 32 or 64.
There are three of those shops that are accessible to me for the memory. If the 4 will be enough, I could get it tomorrow if it's in stock.

On the keyboard, press and hold the Flying Windows key and whilst holding it down, press the Pause Break key.
