Hi all :j
Challenge: Oops forgot this one yesterday! Don't smoke & rarely drink either, so it has to be giving up unhealthy snacks...Not too bad today, all snacks healthy fruit & graze box. Helped that I was busy nearly all day.
No Spend Challenge: Do like the sound of this but do my shopping on Tuesday, I could prep by shopping at the weekend but hate going then & never do if humanly possible to avoid....hmm will have to ponder. Will make an exception for Tuesday & try for a 6 day week..Starting tomorrow.
Organise. Start as you mean to go on. Know the contents of your fridge, freezer and cupboards. Plan your meals around them. Cook from scratch. Don't buy anything you can make unless cost /time taken dictates otherwise. If you are new to turtle challenges or still have full cupboards you could try living from the cupboards. All food from stores including curry made for supper for all of us. Had YS nibbles & naan with it. Low fat dessert...
Regular budget items should be set by 1st October. If you don't know how much you are spending on food or petrol, now is the time to find out. Question every purchase - need or want? No purchases today.
No Spend Days. Aim for 20 (high target) or 15 (low). Am aiming for 15 but hoping for more. Now 4/5.
Improvise. Make do and mend with a creative twist. think of a substitute ingredient, how to make an old/broken piece of furniture last a little longer. Got out sewing machine & mended DDs uniform trousers - 2 pairs. One pair has been languishing in the mending basket for months.
Exercise Four times a week at least (20 minutes minimum but can be done 10 minutes at a time). Get outside in daylight as often as possible. Out in the morning doing some pruning & lugging the bits up to the back bit ready to incinerate. Loads to do and filled up space that was cleared. Then rubbed down outside of single garage desperately in need of paint. In the afternoon, went out & painted it. Still needs more but looking much better & now protected for the winter.
Christmas Wet blocked my aunts knitted gift & hung on line outside to dry. Looking good now.
Banned Will only be chippys normally with the odd takeaway planned for a celebration etc. No takeaways today.
Extra Income and Extra time Good use of time today, but no extra income.
Report in, daily if possible I'm here..

Coxy if a 17 yo's dad thinks it's someone else's fault when said nearly-adult drinks too much, thatcsays a lot about why he managed to get drunk enough to be hospitalised! If you aren't instilling some idea of personal responsibility by that age you are stuffed. You on the other hand appear to have done a good job with your DD. We have all this to come as Eldest is just 12 - in a few years it will be me acting as a bouncer to drunken booze-smugglers
NSD yesterday so up to 4/15. Went foraging and picked some early chestnuts (heading back next week for more, there is a glut this year) and sloes. Lots of fun but my fingers are full of prickles!
Doctor Who last night was ace, love Jodie W and the storytelling is a great step up from the last series which for me became too clever by half.

Hi all -
Organise- Today I am organising looking at schools for my eldest. There are a few "stay & plays" and open evenings so I need to get those in the diary. I feel a little overwhelmed with it, it seems like such a big decision. On my list of things to do this week; finish the pom poms for a project I have been working on, phone sky and negotiate my next contract with them & look up the price of glamping holidays for next summer. Hub & I have agreed that we cannot justify a holiday abroad next year as we are hoping to pay off the car/buy a house, so we will be looking for a nice break somewhere int he UK. Our budget will be £1000 (including spends)
Regular budget- I have about £100 left , I just need to be really careful, but I have plenty of food in etc and a full tank of diesel so providing I only spend on necessities I will be fine.
NSD- today is number 6 :T
Improvise- getting hub to cut the babies hair as part of our no spend challenge, it only needs a trim and he is actually pretty good at it.
Exercise- back on this Wednesday when I am back at Weight watchers (been off while hub has been away)
Christmas- nothing today but all in hand.
Banned- no take aways
Check in- hello
Looking forward to the challenge this week , we stocked up yesterday & I have warned hub that my purse is closed for the week. Bring it on0 -

Hello and sorry for my usual absence over the weekend. We went to visit FIL and then brought him back with us for today's childcare as the holidays started and we were a day short. I'll drive him back tonight and stay a night there and sort out his electricity tariff renewal.
I thought I had planned well but had totally overlooked the fact that I planned the spending freeze for the week I have a few days off with the kids. Oh, well, now it's definitely a challenge. Day one done yesterday.
mothernerd I printed out your fabulous Christmas "guide". I already do some of those things but will take on board others. Our kids got second hand gifts before especially electronics and bigger items like bikes. We also don't buy new decorations, rather the opposite, some of ours are over 80 years old, the average I think is 20. Most of them are traditional items from my region in Germany from my gran and mum.
Coxy11 what a nightmare. You went over and beyond to be trusting and give them some freedom rather than being super strict and prohibitive and it takes just one child (and his parent) to ruin this.
Gometra I too fell off the wagon on Friday after 5 days, but got back up and jumped on a gain. We'll keep trying.
Shrewbie well done, 7 days.
Loaded with the cold today and will be off the next two days so won't make gym. But I'll stick to the healthy eating and abstinence. Having a cold actually helps with thatBut back on track with all on Thursday.

]A challenge for you - anything you could change to the positive or give up for October? My plan is to re-start bodycoach during Oct, before then I plan on cutting down to one sweet treat/ day maximum
:o - .
Organise. . I'm taking the opportunity to use up those things which have been lurking in the freezer/ cupboard and are now exposed! Yes - good results yesterday and today on this :T
Regular budget CCs all paid off in full (one is in credit!) Money gone to savings ac and ISA.Running totals Spends: Groceries £61.95. Clothing £35. Xmas 6.98 + Sun spends
No Spend Days. Now 3. Spent yesterday on carparking & car hire for hols + also 2 Xmas presents. Nothing today
Improvise. - Scratch dinner + lunch
Exercise Four times a week at least Nope - re cold
Christmas Will plan this out this month
One of the presents I bought yesterday was a Leg0 set which DS3 wanted and which is a stupid £££ price. Someone was selling it boxed, with instructions but made once on flebay for about £50 less than RRP.
I do buy all 4 DC new PJs for Xmas Eve (not Xmas-y PJs, though) but they can be from A5da, Pr1marc, Mata1an etc - doesn't have to be fancy, just new PJs
I don't buy new decs - maybe 1 or 2 things for the tree if something really and truly catches my eye, but that's not often. The mantlepiece is decorated with holly and ivy cut from the garden and candles/ candle holders which we already have.
Banned Takeaways, coffee shops, chippys, etc. - have social budget. Will include a meal out for OH's bday. Running total £10.70
Extra Income Running total £41.44

apple muncher - Thank you. I do enjoy my charity walks and volunteering. I am doing another charity walk this Saturday and volunteering for a homeless charity on Sunday. For my Christmas plans I will look into them after my Mum's first anniversary of her death on 2nd December.
Challenge – Do more self-care. Still doing my 365 days of self care journal and 365 tiny love challenges. Went for my floatation today. Was so relaxing and will be booking another one in the near future.
Organise. This I must to. Used what I had in.
Regular budget Budget done.
No Spend Days NSD achieved today. 7/20.
Exercise Walked to/from train station through the park.
Christmas This is already sorted. Have put money into a savings account each month for the year. Immediate family all get money. Christmas will be a difficult time for me so I will concentrate on self-care. Will decide after 2nd December - my Mum's first anniversary of her death.
Banned - Was fine today.
Extra Income Will be doing surveys when possible. No surveys done today.

Had a spendy weekend. Bought a few things for Christmas/Birthdays for the kids (I only buy for them, no-one else gets anything now), also bought some DIY things. The house needs a good spruce up so my wages are being spent on that. Yesterday DH repainted the hall and lounge ceilings, re-painted the grout in the bathroom and re-sealed the bath and sink. We had to buy a new shower curtain (we want a shower screen but can't have one because our window architrave extends over the edge of the bath) because the old one was manky, I just can't keep them clean - any tips anyone? I hate just throwing them out - where exactly is out???
Also bought a new mat for the hallway and moved the dogs bed to another part of the house - he isn't happy.
Worked today, it's like pulling teeth getting information out of them, so many staff employed there and no one really doing anything. Oh well, I just think about the money.
No money spent yesterday or today - yay.Debt Free and now a saver, conscious consumer, low waste lifestyler

Evening all.
Today has been completely manic. I got to work at 8am and literally didn't stop until quarter to four. I had to work through break and lunch (something on top of teaching has come up at work) and had a full teaching day as well. Didn't manage to get anything to eat or drink or go to the toilet until after 3pm. Monday and Friday are just awful days for me work wise. But I've survived, and had to leave early ish to go to ds parents evening. I'm really proud of how well he's doing at school.
So this busy means no time for spends - I had soup for lunch and have something mysterious looking defrosting for dinner - looks like pasta. Obviously I have no money to spend either unfortunately but it is teaching me a lesson that's for sure.
Not giving up
Working hard to pay off my debt
Time to take back control
