Urghhh….and yesterday started so well too. Did weekly food shop, involved DS2 and got lots of healthy fruit, veg and bits for a healthy packed lunch for him to take to school. Despite the weather (which was foul all day) I actually felt like I got a lot done. All non-sold car boot stuff back into the loft, kitchen tidied etc.
DD had asked to have friends over for her birthday (17th) so I said max 20 and although I'm not stupid enough to think they won't have a drink, I did say, no-one is to get off their faces. I was in all evening, did the mahoosive ironing pile, watched SCD, kept going around and checking on DD and friends. All fine until 10pm when I heard that someone was chucking up in the bathroom, DD was in tears as the bf of her friend 'who never drinks' apparently was wrapped around the loo bowl, shirtless. Then another friends said 'don't worry I've called an ambulance' which of course makes things 100 times worse. Off he goes in the ambulance with the girl that called it. In the meantime another boy arrives (late to the party) and his mum follows ambulance as significant adult. Meantime, the other kids are getting picked up and I took one home. Get back to quiet house (only DD, DS1 and DD's friend who's staying over) only for the late boys mum to phone me from the hospital saying the boys dad has had a drink and is refusing to get a cab and collect him. So I had to go to the hospital, wait for them to be happy for him to leave and then take him home. Got in at 2am. The Dad was raving at me for lack of supervision. I truly believe some of the kids had front-loaded, and I'm not naïve enough to think this doesn't happen, but some parents obviously are. Should have patted them down at the front door. Really tired today and have done 6 loads of washing and managed to get most dry, but will be in bed by 9pm I think.
DD is never having another party - she has been in tears most of the day for her friends lack of respect of her, me, our house etc. One friend has dropped flowers round for us both.
In other news - NSD number 3 so every cloud....

Challenge – Do more self-care. Still doing my 365 days of self care journal and 365 tiny love challenges. Had a nap during the day as I was really tired.
Organise. This I must to. Used what I had in.
    Regular budget Budget done.
No Spend Days NSD achieved today. 6/20.
Exercise Walked to/from train station/location where I was volunteering. Also from train station to home. Was going to walk to a nearer station this morning through the park but it was to dark, so took bus to another station.
Christmas This is already sorted. Have put money into a savings account each month for the year. Immediate family all get money. Christmas will be a difficult time for me so I will concentrate on self-care. Usually I spend time around my sister’s. Will have to wait to see what the plans are for this year.
Banned - Was fine today. Brought my own drink and snacks with me to the homeless charity run where I was volunteering.
Extra Income Will be doing surveys when possible. No surveys done today.
    Report - Reporting in.

Today I am grateful for some kind words from a friend, for getting a gazillion veggies down my neck, for watching The Beautiful Fantastic film as a family, for dd swarming over her climbing frame like a monkey, for getting lots of sewing done, for dh discovering mrmoneymustache all by himself (!), for hugs from dd, for sudoku puzzles.

Mothernerd - the giant sounds awsome! Hope you get to rest up and recover a bit.

Kerry woman - you do so many charity events or volunteering. Go you! Hope your cmas plans can get sorted soon so that you can prepare for them.

Coxy - yikes to those kiddos! Yah boo hiss to the parent who ranted at you. And yay to the friend who sent some flowers. Hope dd is okay.

Good luck with the comps f0xh0les.

    I want to be free-

I used to volounteer at a charity shop & we would weigh in clothes not suitable for selling so I'd still donate the pants then they can sell them or weigh them in with other stuff :)
  • You are a brave human being Coxy… I decided in about my 3rd year of teaching teenagers that my kids were never, ever having a party in my house. I would rather pay to hire a venue. Hope that you're doing ok now - and I'm pleased someone had the decency to make the effort to apologise.
So I've bagged another nsd today - I can't remember if the freeze starts today or tomorrow but I'm in regardless.
Also managed to make a bit of money from tutoring today - I was out for ages but I really need the money.
And did a good deed, doing some washing for my bestie - her machine has blown up (almost literally).

Coxy- that guy was being ridiculous, his child is 17 & not 7 & should ne able to take a certain level of responsibility for himself. Indeed it is he who should have been apologising to you for the way they treated your house/daughter x

  • Crazy_Cat_Lady - I know how you feel about Xmas :( I have been going to charity shops and picking up bits, checking FB selling pages (and free pages) and have told people I can't afford much this year so if they don't want to get me something or only something small I don't mind. My son is going to be 2 just before Christmas so I am just going to get him a few bits and take him to some of the xmas parties at the local childrens centers. Also I am trying to collect him the shiny disney dvd's so have been checking cex too.

Challenge - Not really eaten healthy today but it's a Sunday so that's a good excuse right? haha
Organise - Have made sure I have got fuel and food in to try and do the spend freeze this week! Got a feeling I will only get to Thursday with swimming and got a work meal out this week on Sunday. BUT even if it's not a full freeze it will be min spends. Saved curry sauce from this evening to use on chips tomorrow.
No Spend Days - Spent today but that was 20p on a fresh cucumber while on a walk also got some cooking apples free! And Spent £39.43 on fuel but that should last me well into next week.
Improvise. Make do and mend with a creative twist - Son is teething (last ones ) and was going through so many tops because he was just making them so wet with dribble. Was going to go out and get him some dribble bibs but used his food bibs instead. So he had a huge bib on all day but it did the trick :rotfl:
Exercise Four times a week at least - Went for a nice walk with my son, bro, his wife and their son.
Christmas - Finally wrapped them xmas bits and updated the list.
Banned Takeaways, coffee shops, chippys, pie shops, vending machines, sandwich bars etc. - None. Had to get some fuel today as well and old me would have gone in and got a drink and chocolate but I didn't! Did pay at pump and cba to get my little boy out and take him in the shop :rotfl:
Extra Income or Extra time for the time poor - None today.
    Report in - Hello!
