Hi there, A bit late in the month but can I join pleeeese?

Aiming to clear my last CC by the time the 0% ends in Feb 19.

Challenge –I don't smoke and don't drink very often but really need to get to bed earlier, as from end of OCT will need to get up every morning at 6am to muck out Mr G. Tend to stay up watching telly whilst the OH snores next to me

Organise - Reducing the food bill is my priority this month So far this month I written 8 weeks menus and SW plans, written shopping list for 1st 4 weeks and put into My Supermarket and then went to L$dl, Mr T and Br£nds for L£ss to buy the cheapest. Feeling a bit smug  combined with a bit shocked at what I have been happily spending for some items up to now :o

Regular budget Am on second month of the new budgeting me - need to keep it up to date as I go along and not on the last day of the month. :D

No Spend Days Going to be aiming for a modest 15 as this is my first month.

Improvise Have pile of mending that has been sitting there for months - aim to reduce this by the end of Oct. Will have more clothes to wear then :o

Exercise Get Plenty already walking the Duvet dog, digging a the allotment and poo picking after Mr G. Winter stables start end of OCT so mucking out too!

Christmas Have started saving and this year will stick to what I have saved by Xmas.

Banned Yes agreed! Have had one family meal out this month to visit DS and his new GF, nothing else scheduled.

Extra Income this is the hardest it. Have been collecting bits to sell but not getting around to posting them :o

    Report Will try everyday :D

  • Evening all :hello:
Another one thinking of you IWantToBeFree - sounds like a rotten situation. As someone who is currently going through a divorce and the associated financial stuff, your mother is definitely entitled to her share of house, pension etc. It can be expensive but worth every single penny getting decent legal advice.
Coxy - pleased things are all sorted at home now.
Another busy day for me - not as bad as yesterday but I am struggling with a bit of a headache and poorly tummy since I got home. I have a bit of stuff I need to do as well - I've not made dinner yet, and I have to do another hour of school work before I can properly relax. Hopefully I'll get an early night though and feel ok tomorrow - I have a couple of important meetings and only 8 more school get ups until half term.
Spend freeze is going fine - I don't have any desire to be out spending, which is good because I've got no money to spend.

A challenge for you - anything you could change to the positive or give up for October? My plan is to re-start bodycoach during Oct, before then I plan on cutting down to one sweet treat/ day maximum :o:o - .:o:o

Organise. . I'm taking the opportunity to use up those things which have been lurking in the freezer/ cupboard and are now exposed! Still going well. Prepped a huge bowl of pears from the tree and froze them. Froze the remaining part of a seedy HM brown loaf which OH can have Thurs eve/ Fri morning and I'll make a fresh one on Fri morning. I have rye sourdough sliced and frozen and also wraps to use up. DS2 and DS3 have white rolls and a white loaf (sliced and frozen) which they can have

Regular budget CCs all paid off in full (one is in credit!) Money gone to savings ac and ISA.Running totals Spends: Groceries £83.52. Clothing £35. Bdays + Xmas 41.49 + Sun spends Looks like we may get a refund for the extra we had to pay after flight issues - fingers crossed!

No Spend Days. Still 3. Spent today in A1di - went in with a short list, but found lots of Hallowe'en sweets and Xmas goodies (for stockings) so spent more than planned - not excessive, though. Also nipped in to MAta1an and bought nephew some trousers and DS2 some slipper socks :)

Improvise. - Was going to buy a small bag of compost to plant winter bedding in pots but used bottom soil from pots and some HM compost mixed in to feed it. Lunch was using oddments up in a wrap and dinner is - not sure yet - will look in fridge and freezer for inspiration for me (OH is away and therefore I can eat random stuff :D)

Exercise Four times a week at least Nope - re cold

Christmas Will plan this out this month
Bought some little bits today. Resisted new decs to hang from walls in dining room - they didn't make my heart sing enough, so they're clearly not right! :D;):p Have everything (not much so far) from under the bed currently on top of my bed - must list it all before I can get in there tonight and then it can get tidied/ sorted back under there!

Banned Takeaways, coffee shops, chippys, etc. - have social budget. Will include a meal out for OH's bday. Running total £10.70

    Extra Income Running total £41.44

    Report in, here :)

Thankful for a sunny day - made the small amount pf gardening I did (about 40mins) pleasant and washing dried quickly, finding some bits in A1di specials due this Thurs which I can buy for my mum as part of Xmas presents (very hard to buy for - she has a good disposable income and just goes and buys what she wants when she wants with no regard that someone could get it as a present!), using free RM stamps to post a quirky present to my aunt in Austria (8.65 postage!!!), having more than enough, the fact DS2 chose not to go to rugby practice as he was tired and still recovering from his cold - saving me a round trip of more than an hour with DS3 to collect him, as he could get the normal school bus home! :T(Obviously I would rather he was feeling 100%, but he has no games until Nov, so he's not really missing out)
ETA - and super speedy appointment at physio for my wrist (currently much better, thank you :))

Very happy that I have had another two NSDs so now a total of 4/15.

EXERCISE - yesterday I did the Rosemary Connelly exercise dvd and today I was supposed to go walking but this was cancelled as it's been pouring all day.

CHRISTMAS- I received the fleece for dgs yesterday and the outfit for dgd today. On Sunday I bought some children's DVDs from the car boot to put in with grandkids presents. I watched "Lost in Space" yesterday just to check it was working ok ;) and tonight I'm going to watch Narnia.

EXTRA INCOME - none, I'm afraid nothing else sold on eBay :(

ORGANISE - I did some batch cooking yesterday as one freezer drawer was completely empty. So starting to cook and organise the freezer for winter.

REPORT - will try and post tomorrow but have visitors from Australia and I'm taking them out for the day so will definitely be a spending day xx

Today I am grateful for my counselor, for walking uo a blimmin big hill (and I beat the bus!), for sorting bday presents for BIL and niece, for finding the right sized box to send said presents off in, for almost competing all the pesky paperwork for dd's sec sch application, for eating well, for Pearla Merle and PinotGrigio both posting again, for fresh bed linen.

  • Thank you thank you thank you all for your lovely words of advice and support :A It is has meant such a huge amount to come considering that I had just joined and soon after all hell broke loose here. I'm definitely going to speak to a solicitor just to find out who is entitled to what given some special circumstances mainly revolving my grandma's house and who it entitled to it etc. Hopefully we'll get some good news and it will put my mum and grandma's minds at rest or at least prepare them.

Anyway, I'm feeling a lot better today and have not spent anything except for fuel (necessary as I've got a 100mile round trip tomorrow for my friend's "Hope you don't die in Nepal" party :rotfl: He chose the party title not me :rotfl: I just popped to Debehnams to take a skirt back so that's £30 I can put straight off my card :j I also gave my dad £100 off what I owe him. Basically my 13yr old Astra died a few weeks back. I was on my way home from a day shopping with my mum and grandma when my clutch pedal literally dropped to the floor  I managed to somehow drive it 10miles in 2nd gear engine screaming at 20pmh until I got to a roundabout and had to stop so the car stalled and died :rotfl: 2 garages told me to scrap it or it would cost £3000 but my dad, knowing my debt problems, looked into buying all the parts and spent 3 days with mine and my brother in law's help replacing the clutch, dual mass flywheel and other parts. It was a heavy, huge and overwhelming job. It's times like these when I see my old dad and remember how caring he was when I was a child. Instead of £3000 it's cost me about £500 which I owe him in installments. I gave him the first £100 and he told me off for giving me so much in one go and gave me half back until I could afford it. Things like this really confuse me. It reminds me of the old song "when she was good she was very very good...." It exactly describes my dad. Anyway, enough of my family for a while, you guys have been so lovely though, sincere heart felt thank you to you all :A Oh and NSD number 4 I think, can't remember but I'm doing well :rotfl: (the money I owe my dad, I don't class as a spend and I also got fuel for tomorrow as it was budgeted) I hope you're all having a lovely evening! :A xxx
