    No post on Thursday as I was so exhausted. It felt like I was moving through treacle the whole time :( I was too tired to make the planned dinner, I explained to the children about the change of plan and what I intended to swap it with, both of them weren't bothered about dinner so we all had cheese & biscuits with plenty of fruit and veg, I & dd followed ours with hm chocolate cake and ds had toast & honey. All enjoyed our improvised meal.

    Friday I felt a more like my normal self. I put dinner in the slow cooker just after breakfast to ensure we would have a dinner :rotfl: As well as our normal home education and chores, me and OH worked on the room of fun, in an ideal world I would like everything in it dealt with, leaving us deep cleaning, touching up paintwork etc next weekend before my parents take up residence mid October. It should be doable, but the calendar is quite full, so it is a case of fitting it in where we can.

    Today's list:
    Check bank accounts Not done, this will need to roll over
    Defrost freezer #1 Done
    Defrost freezer #2 Done

  • Good afternoon to all,

    I hope you all have a lovely, relaxing weekend.

    Yesterday was payday for me. Had to budget for next moth and cut some spending. I managed to pay about £400 wort of debt.
    Money saving activities for the weekend includes:
    * Collected new calendar for 2019 paid £2.00 for nice diary
    * Paid £9.99 for credit report and history- I had to see all the details as I want to improve score
    * Postponed shopping- decided that we have enough food for today so we can go tomorrow
    * earned a grand total of £0.09 from Qm££ :rotfl: every penny helps
    *Decided not to take kids for the soft play this weekend- money are tight this month so I will do instead some free activities.

    Have great afternoon:j

    Part of the Furniture 1,000 Posts Combo Breaker I've been Money Tipped!
    Evening all, I have been missing in action again but need to make a concerted effort to get back on the wagon!

    I've just had a catch up of this weeks thread and good to see the regulars plus some new faces :)

    I am still working on my little Amazon empire which is going well but I seem to have hit a ceiling for sales which! although is better than I could have imagined when I started a year ago, still isn't *quite* enough to live on. Fortunately, I have found a publishing company that sometimes need a freelancer at short notice for just odd days which isn't ideal for anyone who is freelance all the time but suits me down to the ground. Because it isn't the be all and end all for me I have finally learned to ask for exactly what I want (in this case, no consecutive working days) and they are giving it to me.

    My social life nowadays consists of dog walking and fund raising for a local charity though I do need to do a bit less of it as it cuts into the day too much and, after three hours of walking, I often come back and take a nap :o

    I'm doing a craft fair type thing tomorrow, I don't expect to sell many of my cards but I have other stuff that I have bought in that bumps up the money usually and anything that doesn't sell well goes into a lucky dip which seems to be the biggest money spinner of all!

    Sympathies, Purps, with the neighbour problem. I'm not loving mine much either for pretty much the same reason. They aren't intrinsically bad people but just a bit inconsiderate and selfish and have really spoiled the house they are renting as well as ruined being outside for me this summer.

    One thing I have been keeping the faith with is job spotter. Because I'm only commuting a few days each month now every time I go back to this company all the shops have different job ads up, I've just cashed in another £15 (and got my largest points score ever, 220, for a local fish and chip shop??)
    Make £25 a day in April £0/£750 (March £584, February £602, January £883.66)

    December £361.54, November £322.28, October £288.52, September £374.30, August £223.95, July £71.45, June £251.22, May£119.33, April £236.24, March £106.74, Feb £40.99, Jan £98.54) Total for 2017 - £2,495.10
  • Morning all :coffee:
    Welcome back FvD - and hello to all new people. Please stick with us - we are a lovely bunch.
    Had a day off the laptop altogether yesterday. I had tutoring and it was ds birthday so we spent a bit of a time together as family. It was dd birthday last week so we had a rather large meal out and did a little bit of shopping. After I did the budget I had enough available (I won't say spare) to buy me a winter coat. The kids already have theirs and I haven't had a new one for 4 years. Used a 15% voucher to get a better deal.
    So, I now have a bit of work to do today because I have to prepare my week ahead for work. That will take another couple of hours. Plus I'm going to visit my mam, and I have a commission project for crochet now my blanket is finished. And I need to look into a bit of stuff the exam board have asked me to do. Busy but in a good way today. :D
  • Morning all :hello:

    We don't have anything planned today which is nice, but I'm sure we'll end up doing something and we have a few jobs to do:

    Get banking straight and money all in the right pots
    Update food spends
    Reconcile just for points cc
    Make a cake
    Swap a product that was faulty
    Do half an hour clean up in the garden to get it ready for winter
    Make a cake as didn't get round to it on Friday
    File away card delivery that arrived so I have cards to hand when I need them

    Have a great day everyone. Purps.

    Morning purps - seems like you really want to make the cake today!

    I'm going to just put a couple of things on my list - better to get 3 things done than nothing!

    [STRIKE]* put cuffs & new waist line on pj bottoms - going to do this now :D[/STRIKE] took me about an hour and turned a too big pair of pj bottoms (that I've never really liked) into a pair of lounge pants. They are mink colour and I put a black waistband and black cuffs on the bottom. REally "cuffed" with them! ha ha loving the Freudian slip here!
    [STRIKE]* look through garage for list of things needed to paint hallway - hoping half the shopping list will be reduced :D[/STRIKE]
    * go to the allotment
    * make batch of bean soup in pressure cooker
    * finally make pork casserole!
    [STRIKE]* take pup for a walk - prob stop for a pint somewhere [/STRIKE]
    [STRIKE]* madam finish her homework. Just one piece left![/STRIKE]
    * look for doors at B&Q and then ask fil if he'll get them on a wednesday when he gets a discount ;)
    * knitting

    Ok more than 3 but hopefully all of these will be easy enough to do!

    Hi September Savers,

    Morning!:coffee:Day off. :j Super-excited because we are going to the theatre tonight for a concert. Got cashback on the tickets. We haven't been to the theatre in ages. So this is an occasional treat. We bought the cheapest seats that have a 'restricted view' but we know the theatre and it's barely restricted at all. We'll drive into the city and park right near the theatre in a car park at the Sunday rate of £3. This is cheaper than taking the train in at £19. And we are taking our own interval drinks. ;)

    Debt-Free-Nillionaire Continuity Plan Year Four:

    * Checked online banking.

    * Get some exercise. Probably cycle. If I do another 13.58km I will have cycled 100 miles this year...but I doubt I'll get that far today. Done. I'm on 96.77 miles now. Will use the full 24 hours of the bike hire and hopefully cycle tomorrow morning.

    * Topped up the Joy Account savings fund.

    * Downloaded music I already own onto my mobile.

    * erm.....what else?!

    To be continued....

    Things don't have to be perfect to be wonderful.

  • Hi all :hello:

    Hope everyone's doing well today :)

    I'm not doing too well, broken sleep (due to OH leaving for his 2-3 week trip at 2am) and struck down with lurgy AGAIN. Have a list as long as my arm of things I could be doing with the day, the house is in a vile state for a start, but right now am drinking coffee and watching iplayer in bed!

    Will endeavour to:
    - do some online study
    - basic clean round - light declutter/dust/hoover/bathrooms/empty & refill dishwasher
    - put on a towels wash
    - weigh jeggings and vests for potential machine dye experiment
    - walk dog and de-poo garden

    Going to tackle things in small chunks and hopefully have some time to loaf on the sofa later (in a slightly cleaner sitting room).

    Have a good day all :D
