btw, I used to get notifications when there are new posts to this thread or replies to my posts, I don't seem to be receiving now. Is there a way to turn on, as such?

It is a while (years) since I forgot my Government Gateway password but from memory, the new password arrives by post. This may have changed by now but it could explain why you are getting strange responses to clicking the "forgot password" button.
  • Thank you. I rang Mcol and they gave me an email address to send the completed scanned Aos to, so I will use that, rather than the online service first.

My Government Gateway user id was previously used for HMRC online services, so not sure if I need to set up a a new one for Mcol. I didn't have much luck last night unfortunately.
  • Keithp also kindly provided the same email address above. Thank you,

And he also wrote in post #78 above:
If you really can't manage to do that [do the AoS online] - note that you have nearly two weeks to get it right - then fill in the form and file the AoS in the same way and to the same email address as mentioned below for filing a Defence.

Yes, thank you KeithP, I appreciate that. I will complete the AOS section by hand on the claim form and submit by email ASAP.
  • Happy to say that today, I have managed to create the Government Gateway user ID and logged into MCOL to fill in the AOS. 1 question - the form also asks for a unique reference on the first or second page - is this necessary? If input, do I input anything I wish as long as I remember it.

Thank you. All is clearer now, even though I looked at the Dropbox file before, the following pages of it didn't seem to have loaded up, but I could see it all now. AOS complete, now onto the Defence!
  • I have drafted a defence letter and post the content below. It is only a first pass gathering information from this forum and please could someone go through it to advise and guide if this is suitable. The summary of the PCN leading to this are :

The car was parked outside a block for unloading / moving in. To park at that spot involves bollards to be lowered by security/concierge and verbal agreement was made to park and unload. There are double yellow lines on the road but the car was parked on the pavement with a drop down kerb, so it was off-road causing no obstruction to other vehicles. 2 weeks later, a letter from the PPC arrives at the old address of the Registered Keeper, titled Parking Charge - Keeper Liability. This was the first notification of the fine. There was no windscreen PCN prior and at the spot for unloading, there are no signs whatsoever in the area warning of Restricted Parking or any at all by the PPC.

    Thank you in advance
