When you are happy with the content, your Defence could be filed via email as suggested here:-
Print your Defence.
- Sign it and date it.
- Scan the signed document back in and save it as a pdf.
- Send that pdf as an email attachment to CCBCAQ@Justice.gov.uk
- Just put the claim number and the word Defence in the email title, and in the body of the email something like 'Please find my Defence attached'.
- Log into MCOL after a few days to see if the Claim is marked "defence received". If not chase the CCBC until it is.
- Do not be surprised to receive an early copy of the Claimant's Directions Questionnaire, they are just trying to keep you under pressure.
- Wait for your DQ from the CCBC, or download one from the internet, and then re-read post #2 of the NEWBIES FAQ sticky thread to find out exactly what to do with it.
So just to clarify, I don't need to send a copy of by post too?0 - Sign it and date it.

No, otherwise you'd have been told to. That advice is on every thread and never varies.
If you're wanting to double check in future the best way possible is to research other threads. It gets you used to looking for info.0 -
Thank you. Only because I read in the thread 'Court Claim Procedure (updated October 2016)' by Bargepole point no.3 '. I recommend printing and posting (registered) to Northampton, trying to fit it in the online box destroys the formatting, and makes it hard for the Judge to read.'
I will only send by email as advised.0 -
When bargepole wrote that the CCBC did not accept emails , check the date he wrote it
Anyone posting by royal mail should follow his advice to the letter because it is still valid
Since email was allowed and yet they still do not have an upload your documents facility , then KeithP kindly posts the current and better options regarding the defence and DQ which are as emailed pdf attachments
It's good to know that someone is reading the information in the newbies thread carefully , many don't even when told to
Keep checking the status , it will change to shows as defended , meaning they have added the emailed defence
It's a shame they don't come forward into the 21st century and allow uploads of documents etc , the DVLA is certainly more up to date , as are HMRC0 -
Thanks, RedX. I didn't know about the update to the CCBC accepting defences by email now. Maybe this could be mentioned within that thread or somewhere on the Newbies thread.
Appreciate all the help and advice so far.0 -
It's mentioned by KeithP in hundreds of threads , don't just stay on your own thread , read others too
How do you think people like me know so mupch ?? By reading threads , that's how , because I have never been to court , nor had a PCN in my own name

What I meant was, I noticed bargepole's mention of posting afterwards, which conflicted with your advice, so I just wanted to clarify, I have followed your advice by emailing, of course, and the defence is now submitted. .Many thanks,0

Hi all,
I have read that I can email the DQ to the court at
ccbcaq@hmcts.gsi.gov.uk, can I also email to Gladstones as well? If I email, do I need to post a paper copy as well?
The previous email I sent the defence to was CCBCAQ@Justice.gov.uk, which is slightly different.
Just wanted to clarify please, thank you.0 -
