    Hey guys and gals

What can I say but, Merry Christmas to you all and may 2008 see good times ahead.

I'm hoping in January that thing will be great, more money to play with alot more to save and maybe a holiday.

Again I would like to thank all of you who gave good advice helped me think positively and remind me that there are worse things in life than being in debt.

Again Merry Christmas and I will be reading and posting in the new year

Be happy, Be merry, eat and drink plenty, start the diet in 2008 LOL cause that when I'm gonna start!!!!:rotfl::D

    Hi Ann,

    Merry christmas to you too!

Just reading through all the posts...really interetsing stuff...well done for getting through it.

Could i just ask about the loan for your brother. How did the OR take? did he quiz you on it in depth? Did he ask a lot of probing questions?

Its just that i have my OR interview in a week and only a few months ago i made £5000 from selling my car. I really dont know what i did with the money except take the family on a holiday and i am really panicking about what to tell the OR...
  • Hi Pre-reg

Just be honest with what u did with the money, I spoke to someone from the National debt line and they told me just to be honest.

I was really upset that my brother did this too me and I have not even told him as I don't want him to feel that he's got off scott free. If in the future he does offer me any money (probably not) then I will take it and put it towards a better future for myself and my son.

The OR are very nice people and not there to judge, for they have no reason too as they don't know how u got it the situation ur in.

I was nervous but as I said before just be honest, the most they can do is put a restriction on you. Look up the insolvency website and look under the restrictions bit. Trust me there are people put there that have done worst.

I hope i have given you the info u needed, good luck and let us know what happens.

    Best of luck. xx;)

  • That scares me. I kept using my credit cards when I knew I couldn't pay them and when I left my ex I used my catalogue to buy a bed for DD, some bedding and some kitchen stuff knowing I wouldn't be able to repay.

Current balance: approx £17500 including Tax Credit Overpayment

Estimated DFD: never - deficit budget. Cheers HMRC!

Another year over and we're still together. It's not always easy, but I'm here forever

I can see why it would be scary but lets think about it rationally, You bought a bed, bedding and kitchen items, They are all pretty basic essentials, and as long as the cc debts didn't buy porches and 3 month long holidays then the or won't even think about it, We all made some mistakes financially and the or will asess these individually, I really wouldn't worry about the stuff you've listed, I'm a rational person ( now :rotfl: ) and can plainly see that what you've listed aren't lavish or excessive.

I had debts, my circumstances changed, I tried but couldn't pay them, I dealt with them in the best way I could.........
