How about a year supply of condoms or rubber sheets - will make it easier for you to change his sheets (going of your previous experiences). Magazine subscription (either linked to the above activity or not:p ).
Is he vain?? would he like a hair makeover voucher or facial?? I know its the "in" thing for the young men to look after themselves these days.0 -
I was so miffed last night as well.. I have meal planned for the whole month and said to hubby I am trying to empty the freezers so I can clean them out and then do a massive shop just before christmas so we have loads of new food.. then I asked him to go to the corner shop for milk.. it took him 45 mintues and he came back with fish portions (YAK!) and 2 pizzas!! (double YAK!) so I have food in there I won't even eat an hour after telling him I knew EXACTLY what I was doing his excuse.. "oh, well.. the freezer looked empty!!!!!!!!!!"
F***ING DUH!!!!!! You think?? ..
Seeing as we have family coming round boxing day and having christmas dinner etc.. I wanted to label the drawers with food for each day.. is that really sad? I thought if I did that I could say to them the food in there is for 24th/25th/26th and fill the little freezer with bits they could nibble at.. wraps, extra portions, pizzas etc.. I have it all organised in my head!
Corned dog hash tonight.. might go sling it in the SC now actually.. then go back to bed for an hour lol.. My legs are killing me again.. I had to go out in my flat shoes last nigth because I couldn't wear my pretty ones!! I hate cold wet weather!!LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -

I've just been looking at magazines.. but they are either rude or vehicle related.. might look for the 'mens health' one.. and do the gym membership..
I could get him a hair-do vulture.. I think he'd like that.

Morning everyone.
DH sprung on me last night that he is out at work all day today until the early hours of the morning leaving me home alone with DS. Most inconvenient as i have an inspection on Monday and Tuesday next week by the LEA, particularly focussing on science and technology, so i am guaranteed to be observed on one of the days. Basically all my marking needs to be up to date, all my folders need to be filed perfectly as i am also being inspected by my head of house with my form on monday and tuesday morning. Grrrr. Men and their timing.
Must also try and sort out buying some new maternity clothes as my current ones are in thin supply after not getting the stains out when DH puked on them, and getting new car insurance (renewal quote was 280, but i am sure i can knock another 20-30 off that)
and my plan for the weekend before finding out all this was to try and sort the xmas shopping. I think i may just order everything online this year and just get it delivered to DH at work. Sod it. I am not superwoman.
Anyway, achieved today:- changed charlie's cot
- washed a load of DH's jeans,
- sorted out another 3 loads of DH's to wash over the weekend
- made my bed, which was probably a waste of time as it needs changing, but may leave that till tomorrow as Dh will probably be filthy when he gets in but still collapse in bed in that state, so no point doing clean sheets
- been to the morrisons and done a food shop by myself.
- got some xmas pressies for charlie and my 2yo nephew while there - barney DVDs (3 for 6 quid), jungle book DVD, some colouring books, pens, craft scissors.
- got us some easy cook food for today to make my life easier - soup for lunch, pizza for our tea
- also got some easy cook stuff like fresh pasta for DH to make for our dinner during the week. He can take charge on monday and tuesday as i will have more than enough to do on those days
- fed the cats
- put a load of my denim i washed yesterday out in the TD
- emptied the TD of fluff - best do it every load now DH spent ages cleaning it last week, also pigpen scared me with the talk of fires, especially as ours is out in the garage
- hung the non-TD denim up
- mark a set of y9 test papers they did for me
- mark a y7 and y11 test that were done by individual kids to catch up last week
- mark y10 h/w, and y11's if i brought it home with me
- write some y11 homework questions and save to my pen drive
- write half termly report stickers for 3 sets of my books
- chop up a big bag of onions for the freezer as it makes life lots easier then for speedy pasta sauces and the likes of that
- [strike]play lots with DS[/strike]
- clean the kitchen - particularly the cooker top, [strike]and the sink[/strike]
- [strike]wash another couple of loads of clothes[/strike]
- empty the airers, refill with washed stuff and do some ironing
- sew up the hems on two pairs of maternity trousers to extend my wardrobe for next week
- wipe the dining table
- run the hoover round the kitchen, living room and dining room
- take up the dust sheet that is still under the coffee table from when DH oiled it last weekend
- [strike]watch my rental DVD, strictly come dancing, and possibly the kylie evening[/strike]
- sort my two folders out for the coming week
- [strike]find a cheaper car insurance quote[/strike]budget will do 50 quid cheaper online on confused.com than they have written to me with, so will ring next week and try to negotiate this price
- online xmas shopping
- meal plan for next week as DH will stir anything on the cooker top if i chop it up and tell him what it is :rotfl:
- write charlie's birthday thank you cards as it is now nearly a month later
- [STRIKE]relist books and DVDs we don't want on amazon to make room for new ones given to us at xmas[/STRIKE]
- put rental DVD and shopping survey in the post
- file all paperwork from downstairs
- paid credit card bill
- done internet surveys
- talked to FIL about possibility of buying his friends car - sounds like a too good to miss opportunity but won't rush into it
- moved charlie's birthday money from our account into his
- shredded all unwanted stuff from this week
- replied to 2 emails from old uni friends found on facebook

Someone Kick me. My house is seriusly minging. there are bits of biscuit, some dog food and some crisps on the stairs. DS1 had an accident in the loo, near the loo, so it smells of pee. The floors downstairs are sticky and smell of dog. The sofa's are covered in 'stuff' ranging from milk, to chocolate to ... who knows... I can't see through the glass doors, the window is grimy... the kitchen, ha, don't get me started.
Had lunch when I realised I hadn't ate and had drank 4 mugs of coffee and that was why I was shaking!
If I clean up (properly, not just say I have done it when I really just sat and idly fantasied about a man-sandwich) can I do my nails? Bought a nice funky gold shimmery varnish that looks good as a funky French manicure, one way it looks gold, the other it looks French manicure-y, funky.
SO, :coffee: on the go eh? Or a 30 min challenge?0 -
Tia - Get your bum in gear!! The longer you leave it the more it will annoy you. Set that timer for 30mins then run round like a blue @rsed fly.
They you can paint your nails and dreams about men sandwiches all you want!0 -
Well... DS1 had a friend at the door, so there was the usual 'oh Mummy, I am unable to find my shoes that are sitting right in front of my face' and then the 'So and so did such and such and he's not my friend anymore' which led to the 'Don't be a baby, either go outside and play with so and so or go tidy your room' when he chose to go back outside.
I managed to
hoover stairs
tidy coats etc that had been left lying around
clean out the corner in the living room that was a dumping ground
move toys from dumping ground into kids bedroom
polish the bookshelf and sort it out (well, DVD and xbox games shelf)
clean window in living room
Polish nest of tables at the window.
Now, I will make that :coffee: and have it on the go, while dreaming of men-sandwiches and my pretty-pretty nails and what they would do to their pretty-pretty backs...0 -
:T Well done Tia:T
Enjoy your daydreaming;)0 -
Afternoon all :hello: Late posting but we had a lie-in this morning
Mind you we needed it. DD was sick last night all over her bed, carpet/rug, teddies, and some of her toys  After finally clearing it up we asked her what she'd had to eat and it turns out they'd had chocolate birthday cake (with chocolate cream filling) in class which had been sitting out all day  Obviously it must have been that again. DD's stomach can be really sensitive which is why I don't buy powdered soups, she doesn't have many sweets and she doesn't have meat on her sandwiches for school or any cold meat thats been open for more than a day (mainly because I buy smartprice everything so I'm more wary of "dodgy" ingrediants with it being reformed meat)
So the washing machine is waving the white flag (3 load since 11am) as is the fire as its raining but I still have another 3 loads to go. DDs room needs hoovering (I sprinkled bicarb on the cleaned up sick patch to absorb the smell and damp), but she's spilt water on the floor from her bottle (in the same spot:mad: ) so I have the heater on in there trying to dry that out and all I want to do right now is curl up and go to sleep
