The issue was around the period of time a passport is valid for. The UK was normalising its passport validity to 10 years (without any added "bonus") regardless of whether Brexit happened or not.

Coincidence - yes. Causal - no.

You’re still missing the point. The ONLY reason for this change is Brexit. Not a coincidence, not anything else, directly causal.

Read the government statement above, check the facts, this is yet another problem caused by the incompetents who handed the decision on the EU to the masses who had no idea what they were voting for. And of course power seekers like Johnson and Gove who manipulated it for their own ends.
