Another STS for me:mad: Showed my diary to consultant who was happy with what was in it. Unlike you Denise, she has suggested I up my syns this week to 20 to see if that will kick start things again. Losing the will now :(

Funny how different consultants say different things. Perhaps we can compare notes at the end of this week and see which worked, or not!

I like that sort of advice!! Where is this group??:D:rotfl:

I buy most of my fish YS denise. I always take a look in the reduced section in Sainsbury's and often strike lucky. I did well at Morrisons the other week too. We had a great piece of cod from there last night. I've recently got DH to eat salmon. He likes it either with a marinade like chilli sauce or with something spicy with it like stir fried veg. It seems to offset the blandness.

Not sure if I'll manage to fit in a shop today so what I've put is what I can manage with what's here. Veg may change.:)

    Today's EE plan:
B: NAS grapefruit, HEB toast, 2 boiled eggs, HEA milk for drinks
L: JP with cottage cheese and pickles
D: burger, fried onions, SW chips, something green, tomatoes, mushrooms
Syns: 1 for burger, any more tbc;)

Hi, just stumbled across this thread and wanted to pop in and say hello!

I've been going to my local SW class for 7 weeks now and I'm delighted to say that I've lost a whopping 1st 11lbs so far. I'm one of the few guys in the group but everyone has definitely been friendly and supportive, and the recipes are pretty good too! Been making a lot from the take 5 book.

Still got a little bit to go before I reach my target but I've enjoyed the plan so far. Just finding it difficult to stay on the straight and narrow at weekends! Helps that I'm pretty much off alcohol but still find myself eating the wrong things sometimes.

I'll follow this thread and update my progress if that ok?

    Thanks :)

 Hi fatrab. Good to have you along.

This is a lovely thread, really supportive and plenty of hints, tips and menu ideas. Do ask if you have any questions.

We do have one other man, the super Stoke, who is almost at target!

Weekends are my hardest time too. I don't look for treats all week but I really like weekends to be different. And it's Friday!:D

    Afternoon all.

My favourite kind of day here, bright and a bit chilly. Well done to all the losers, commiserations gainers and good luck to those close to target! Oh and welcome newbies - great progress Fatrab.!

Weigh in this am shows me creeping up a little, still 2lb under target weight but warrants keeping an eye on. I have been a bit slack the last couple of weeks, more carbs than are good for me and more than usual sweet stuff in the house (I felt sorry for OH who does SW by default!) which of course I have to sample, even when I don't really want it. So, I need a week back on plan to halt any further gains. It would be so easy to allow it to creep back on half a lb at a time having maintained for over 6 months now.

Today the smoked fish has finally made it out of the freezer, so HM fishcakes, SW chips and green veg for tea tonight. Bubbs do you still have your picky tea??

    Have a nice weekend all.

After I got to target in March, my weight 'settled' at between 2 and 4 lbs under. I had originally set my target at the top end of healthy BMI for my height but it went a bit below that without any great effort so I think this is probably where I should be. If I had still been attending group, I'd have probably done as you have and revised my target down but 7lbs down might be a bit too much!

I am very lucky & have not needed to to reset my target by the full 7 lbs.

Welcome fatrab. You've done brilliantly so far.

Not sure what my fish stew is going to be like as didn't have time to slow cook it and am just doing it in a big frying pan! Smells nice but haven't got the fish in yet. That'll probably go in in about 10 minutes.

Have had 5 syns so far today so have 5 syns left so probably a couple of G&Ts to get to my 10. Think the weekend is going to be very difficult!!!

    Denise

PS - have eaten the stew and it was very nice, however the quantities are not really enough! Will definitely make it again and add extra veg and also serve it with some rice or mash to make it a bit more filling.

We needed to have some fruit and quark/yoghurt after to help fill us up! Don't usually need to do that, although sometimes eat some fruit during the evening.
