I get that you choose a weight say 10 stone get to it and call target but I don't understand the being in or out of target range bit and the implications of that at group
many thanks
So if you're out of target, obviously you pay. When you're at target, you don't. They're the immediate consequences of not being at target. Most of us are not at target so day to day, that would be the only change.
I believe the range is 6lbs so -+3lbs. 4 pounds over and you're outside. 4 pounds under and you're also outside. You can always lower your target weight if you feel you need to lose more though.0 -
thankyou for that...it was the 6lb I was wondering about I didn't know if it was 6 lb over or under but seems to span the chosen target...thanks againonwards and upwards0

No problem. I suspect most of us don't even think about target anymore. When we get to it, it'll be nice, but just losing weight is one of the motivating factors of SW. Even if you never reach target, the principals and benefits of SW are there to be seen.0 -
Well done v1ckyt ! Fabulous loss !
I lost 0.5lbs last week and got weighed this Monday night......I maintained...……
Its not good enough and I need to give myself a kick up the a*se.I've gone off the rails in the last 3 weeks......and now I;m off on a sailing/multi activity holiday in Southern Italy for a week!
For the record I'm not thinking about target,I just want to get back on plan, and I will do it very, very soon.0 -

Stoke's got that spot on.
Just to add, you don't have to have a target at all if you don't want to. Some people set a range of interim targets as they prefer small steps to a mountain to climb so to speak. Others just call target when they're a weight they're happy with. There are lots of guidelines to help you choose a target like BMI or height/weight charts. Personally I was happy being a size 10/12. After you've met your target then, if you reset it, it has to be a minimum of 7lbs.0 -

Maintaining is better than gaining. Look at it like that0 -

Hi everyone. Got home around 12.45 but sorting out the van took some time so we ended up on having the soup I'd planned for lunch. We had had chicken salad baguette on the boat (that's my syns for the day gone!)
The journey home was really good, even the ferry was fairly calm considering the weather. We were lucky getting off the ferry fairly quickly and just managed to beat the traffic coming off the P&O ferry which arrived a few minutes after our ferry!
The traffic on the way home was fairly light and we just sailed through all the way home. Haven't been shopping as I knew I'd got the meat & potatoes for dinner tonight and veg in the freezer.
I've done a bit of a meal plan but not finalised it yet as need to check what's in the freezers before I go shopping. Hoping I've got some fish in the freezer for fish & chips tomorrow night!
Think I've probably put on 1/2 stone in the month I've been away so that means I'm 4lb over top end of target - I've never lost that amount in a week! I'm also away for following week so thinking I might leave going back to group until after that and as it's a UK holiday it will be much easier to stick to plan! It's a self catering break on the Isle of Wight. Will take quite a bit of HM SW friendly meals with us, as well as the basics like bread, butter, ham, salad, fresh veg. What do you all think?
