Thank you all for the kind wishes for Kelpie. He's still very tired, but when awake suprisingly perky, all things considered. He had a troubled night, but we're though it now, no more fits, but I had to walk him at 3.00 am agian. I have to accept that what with his heavy duty arthritis meds (three different ones, spread over the whole day), his eye meds (only one drug at the moment, but twice a day, also for life), hid dodgy digestion which means he needs Canik*r pretty much every day, and now the fit, that he's an elderly dog, even though he doesn't understand that. As long as he wants to keep going, as long as he's still enjoying walks and he's not in pain - he'll be with us.
I have to have a difficult conversation with the hydrotherapy vet nurse on Monday. I'm hoping that if he doesn't fit again for a specified period, say three months, that she'll accept him back again because even I don't think putting him in the pool if there's a chance he might fit in there is an idea worth considering.
As for today, I have a listy:

That takes care of today I think. It all has to be done by 8.30 am tomorrow morning when the plumber is due to arrive and I need to make my first phone call. Tomorrow's list is going to be just as long.
ETA Just as well this week's guest phoned with his arrival time. I thought it was tomorrow. It's tonight.
ETAA Some of it's going to have to wait until tomorrow, so I'm going to be starting the week behind. Rats.Better is good enough.0 -

Hob cleaned.
Oven now doused in cleaning stuff and soaking away.
More Washing up done,
And the RCD switch has just tripped. I hope I haven't killed the hob with a drip of cleaning spray going down where I was cleaning under the knobs and it's a bulb that's blown somewhere instead.
ETA: everything switched off and checked one by one. No sign of what caused it. [shrug].I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll0 -
Hi all
Sorry all, been a bit awol. Madly busy at work last week and on Friday we chucked the tent in the car, put the bike rack on and headed off to the middle of nowhere. It poured down yesterday so I spent the day curled up in my tent reading .. absolute bliss. Nice meal last night, some wine and to bed listening to the rain pattering on the tent roof. Up for an early bike ride before home.
Judging by the sleeping bags on the LR floor, lots of empty beer bottles and a depleted fridge it looks like DS had friends round, but the kitchen is tidy and the DW is on so all good.
Off for a shower and hair washed in a minute, feel really grubby. We need to have another go at folding the tent to try and get it back in its bag - the rest of the camping stuff is packed away and I have put a load of washing on.0 -
Valli, are you trying to scare us?
And it's worked! I'm scared...
The last house guests have just left. I have cooked, washed up, tidied the kitchen and run the dw more times than I care to remember over the last 36 hours. But everything seemed to go ok and DH enjoyed his birthday bash and catching up with old friends.
I'm just finishing off making some plum jam then I intend to sit down and do nothing for the rest of the evening. It's a plan.
Lots of hugs for Kelpie, HB.0 -
Five loads through the WM, four have been pegged out and the last will go out first thing in the morning. All of Kelpie's blankets are done, with one drying indoors so that he's got a bed for the night. He's snoring, we're fed and waiting for the arrival.
Scared of next eke's  list. :rotfl:Better is good enough.0 -
