Reigniting this thread! It’s been a really helpful read.
We’ve currently got an application going through with Pepper. We’ve provided everything they’ve asked for and our survey was completed on Monday.Broker said we should hear something by Wednesday which was yesterday. He’s now on holiday and the wait is unbearable!0 -
Did you guys get a application decleration form when submitting for a lender application?0

Hi all,
Currently waiting for our formal offer. It’s been a bit of a faff with lots of documents requested, affordability being questioned due to my pleasant ex husband not paying his CMS properly.. but we are pretty much finally there after agreeing to clear our car finance to equal out the drop in income with outgoings..Have a couple of questions.. once we have the formal offer is it likely that pepper will request any documents before completion such as bank statements or do another credit check? We will be providing the cleared finance so that’s fine just wondering about anything else as it’s likely we will borrow some money temporarily from parents to get a run around car after ours sells. Not planning on getting any credit but just so I know what to expect and to avoid doing transfers between accounts. Also, part of the conditions will be that we repay debt from the sale of my property.. there is enough equity to cover the debt and the deposit however we are a bit concerned as our broker seemed to phrase it that we will need to clear the debt before completion.. I won’t be able to do this as the solicitor will have the money! Is it likely they will actually check on this? We will be repaying it all but we can’t repay it until the funds are returned and cleared and that can’t happen until my house completes, and the deposit and payment for our new house completes.. or will the solicitor be satisfied because there is enough money there to cover it all?
thank you0 -
I'm not sure what "repaying debt from the sale of a property" could mean other than using the sale proceeds to pay the debt - which obviously can't happen until after completion. I don't see anything to worry about.0

So it's taken 16 years to get on the property ladder again, with still a few hiccups on my credit file, my broker decided to go with Pepper money and god was the process a breeze, dip came in 1 day of giving all my information to broker, then it was time for house viewing we already had a dormer bungalow in mind which is in the same street we rent in and made a offer straight away, was up for 180k and offer accepted at 168k, this was now on day 5, now it was on to full application which then took at least 2 weeks to go through peppers back and forward please send this and that but was plain and simple, application then went into AIP and instructed Valuation in week 3, valuation done and I had my Offer in around 3 and half weeks all in, now going through solicitors so hopefully all done before my offer runs out July 16th. For anyone going with Pepper Money and has non perfect credit file there process is amazing but you need to use a good Broker.0

That does not sound right.
Usually you would get a DIP.
The application then goes in.
- This is where there may be some back and forth (but not always, depends on the case, the broker etc).
The valuation would then be instructed.
Your offer (fingers and toes crossed) comes through.
It should not really take nearly a month to receive an offer, but I suppose a lot depends on how long it took you to get the bits required.
Good to hear it has gone through though, I can imagine the relief. I tend to find Pepper are pretty reliable. I think in sort of 8 years maybe of using them I have only had one case declined and that was about 7 years ago. They have come a long way since then as they were terrible back in the day.I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it. Interesting that you have resurrected 2 old posts to advise that you think they are good, and that you have set up an account to do this and that these are your only 2 posts and they are identical!
If I was cynical I might comment that you might have a vested interest in the lender!1 -
