Our video Opens in new window shows you how to package fragile items securely

Use some bubble wrap at least 5cm thick and wrap the extremities of the item e.g. limbs of figurines, ears, etc. Then wrap the rest of the item carefully.
Place the item in a strong rigid container, which is ideally the correct size for the item.
If the container is a little large use more bubble wrap or packing foam to secure the item in place within the box.
    Seal the container securely.
Address your parcel with the full name, address and postcode, remembering to add a return address, then attach the correct postage for the service you need.

Well thank you for the abuse, I don't think I have called anyone an idiot. Are you telling me that you check online every service that you use to see how they treat things. I posted this parcel in all good faith that it would be handled correctly. I don't think I have been treated fairly by Royal Mail, a huge company and one that you put your trust in. I did not get the service I paid for. I posted on here to see if I could get any constructive advise after exhausting all the avenues open to me that wouldn't cost me any more, but obviously not. It may not be much to you all but £291 is a lot of money for me too lose. So thank you all for your input !!!!

£11 for next day delivery suggests Royal Mail Special Delivery Guaranteed by 1pm for a medium sized parcel under 2kg, tracked, insurance up to £500.

If there was no damage to the external packaging my hunch would be that the inner cushioning wasn't snug enough so the item was bouncing around inside the box.

There was no bouncing around, it was impossible to get any more cushioning in the box, it simply could not move.

"anyone" "an idiot" - maybe not here but do take a look at the FB page ladies and gentleman where OP has been less than complimentary

The fb post was nothing to do with me, I do not use Facebook but someone posted for me on there and then hijacked the post. Unfortunate but these things happen and said person has been severely reprimanded.
That still does not give anyone the right to abuse me when as I said I was only looking for advice.

If you don't use FB how do you know what your "friend" posted. More holes than a colander
