For clarification, is it The Keeper or The Driver who is being taken to court? It can't be both.

If it's The Keeper, is this what you want? It may still be possible to reset the clock and get a PCN issued to The Driver rather than court papers to The Keeper. However, this may just end up being a delaying tactic with The Driver going to court later but without the protection of The POFA.

What is the name of the PPC please?

im not aware of a defence? unless this has been missed on my behalf? my dad is the registered keeper of the vehicle and i was the driver. this was over a year ago as the vehicle is no longer owned by him. I am trying to do this on his behalf as he is 70 years of age and recently had his brother pass and it was infact myself who was driving the vehicle?

im trying to understand everything and i have read thread after thread as best i can but wondered what next? do i fill in the n180 as myself (the driver) or as the keeper? (my dad)

Have you actually received a court claim?

Who did the n180 come from?

(If it's from Court then it looks like the defendant sent a defence in!)

Only the defendant should complete the form!

OMG, sounds like you received a CLAIM FORM and responded with a reply designed to respond to a Letter Before Claim.
I received a court letter over a year after a parking offence.I sent out a propsed letter advised by a thread on hear stating i wanted evidence etc following new protocol legislation.

You had a Claim form and did NOT file a defence? What on earth? You sent 'a letter'? who did you send it to, the court, with the court paperwork, or just Gladstones?

What date is on the claim form? I AM NOT ASKING ABOUT THE DATE ON THE N180.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
