Hey all,
i have been fighting a parking fine for a few weeks now. I received a court letter over a year after a parking offence.I sent out a propsed letter advised by a thread on hear stating i wanted evidence etc following new protocol legislation.
they have issue me 2 parking tickets in 1 day and then again the day after. please help
The fine is now upto £625 and they intend to take me to court? they are talking about avoiding court and going through a mediation process but i am a bit lost in what to do next?
thanks

Forget mediation. They want £625 and you want to pay nowt. End of mediation, so don't bother.
Have a look at post 2 of the NEWBIES that has a step by step gude to court written by a poster called bargepole.
It would help if you could fill in the background and tell us what has happened so far, especially if the driver has been identified to the scammers. If it hasn't, then you need to edit your post and only refer to The Driver and The Keeper.

Have you had a letter before claim or is this a bog standard debt collectors letter?
Edit I see now it's a live court claim.0 -
Your Dad will have to fight this, not you. You can do the work on it, but it must all be done in his name. He will have to attend the court hearing if the case is to be defended (you can go with him and speak for him as his 'Lay Representative' - Google it). This is in my dads namePlease note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

The latter
As advised in #2 above!0 -
So i/my dad have been issued a notice of claim......... which i responded to with a letter requesting information about when i was parked( the letter which was on here i sent to Gladstones. I did not hear back from them with any information requested. I used the new protocol/legislation letter?. I have then since been issued with a directions questionnaire which will be filed with the court upon request and that the case can be dealt with without a court hearing? they are calling this mediation.
it is now asking me to complete the N180 and by the 10th september and file it with the court office0 -
Then get reading POST TWO of the newbies thread.
You MUST do this
IT takes you through ALL steps of the court process.
You have a letter from GLADSTONES saying they wish to hear it on papers only, N159, and this is STANDARD from them. Your research - you cannot just stay here and expect to be spoon fed - shows this is normal.
So you complete the N180
What defence did you file? You have already sent in your ONLY defence.0 -
The claim process is covered in#2 of the newbies FAQ thread near the top of the forum
Advice on completing the various forms is there.
(Throughout here you are advised never to reveal who was driving - you were in #2 above!)
Edit details of who was driving from your OP0 -
As directed post 2 is what you want. The Dropbox link has a pictorial walk through of what you need to do.0

Mediators are not judges, whilst they are professional
people, there is a lack of knowledge of the parking
industry .... and that's why Gladstones suggest it0
