Court will be a heck of a lot more than £500. For a Judicial Review you can be looking at tens of thousands.0

Oh no I will get it back. 99% sure because I know I am medically fit and if they expect me to pay for another medical that I have already paid and passed then it will go court.
However the solicitor said it won't get that far because dvla has nothing on me and my evidence is overwhelming good, I have good references and medical exam every year because I work for Cancer research0 -
I mean for the solicitor to write to them on my behalf, it be more of a warning point to which he said they will backdown unless they have any evidence to revoke me.
He said he seen cases like this before.0 -

If you're paying for legal advice why are you asking here?0 -

You've not been revoked, you've been disqualified from holding or obtaining a licence.0 -
So being a disqualified drink driver is fine as long as you work for a charity.
You don't seem to get it, if you dont pay for a medical then no licence. You can't take that too court....unless judicial review and trust me, you cant afford that.0 -
I am just wondering if anyone has been in this similar situation with dvla or known of a case. Just a discussion that's all, that's what these are for.0

No your wrong because dvla said on the phone its been revoked because it was temporary handed back to me while I was doing my medical.
So it's revoked, not disqualified because I served my ban0 -

Suggests the decision can be appealed at Magistrates court (within 6 months though, not 8 years).
OP- you are missing the point, regardless of what happened 8 years ago you are not going to get your licence back if you refuse to go through the process. Trying to make a point on principle is foolish.0 -
What??? What are you on about? I was not working for Cancer research back then, I working at Porton Down. I am just saying that I work full time and as part of my job I have to go through a medical yearly.......meaning if I am a heavy drinker it will show in my results at work and can lose my job.
Had the penny dropped yet? So if I can be medicall for work and be tested regularly then DVLA has nothing on me
You are completely missing the point and don't understand0
