Agreed and I would say it applies to everyone in the queue, not just the person in front. It's annoying when you are some way back in the queue, you see the lights go green in the distance, the cars at the front move but someone a couple places in front of you is half-asleep or more likely, checking their phone, and leaves a long gap before they decide to move. Inevitably, they get through just as the lights change back while you have to wait.

Does it make that much difference to your life having to wait a minute or so?if you have to be somewhere in a hurry you should leave earlier:rotfl:

A minute or so wasted at every set of traffic lights because of drivers who are not paying attention? Yes it does make a difference!

A lot of delays are caused by bad driving, and not just at traffic lights. Overtaking slowly. Changing lanes and encroaching on another driver's safe space. Not having the confidence to overtake a parked car when there is traffic coming the other way. Doing 40 when the limit is 60.

Of course, you have to plan your journey to allow for all these issues. But it is still a waste of time which is our most precious commodity.

Erm. Yeah, it is. You should try it sometime.

I think now is an appropriate time to bring up using your mirrors and proper observations when you reverse so you don't hit anything.

Perfect example of over confidence and carelessness.

You aint the Christ of driving, that's for certain.

In fact the lack of the possibility of a perfect driver that never makes mistakes is a strong argument on the enforcement of speed limits so I'm surprised you don't have a different attitude, bearing in mind your trolling of any post with even a minute connection with speed.

    I'm well aware of that.

I'm also aware that you must not drive without reasonable consideration for other road users (Rule 144).

And that you must not hold up a long queue of traffic, especially if you are driving a slow-moving vehicle. (Rule 169)

And that you can fail your driving test for driving too slowly.

And that you can prosecuted for careless driving.

If I know the sequence of the lights I always glance at the one before to see when it changes red, ready to go.
