    Morning all,
Dnms, hope your first day back goes well.
    So on to todays list
 Switch dss alarm clock off at the wall to save on the electicity - it quickly resets once switched on again Done
 Fill in the forms ready to take the the new surgery next month - if this is still on my list tomorrow then please kick me!
    B /L/D from stores
 [STRIKE]Make dh's lunch for tomorrow [/STRIKE] Working from home instead as he's got meetings this way out :):)
 Triage fridge - after our weekend with sis here and trying out the new aldi, we've over bought - need to batch cook and make sure nothing is going to waste Made a start.... 2 frickadellen chopped and added to an omelette, one for my breakfast with some spinach thats on its last legs and a tub of ratatouille that my dad brought for me at the weekend that had got pushed to the back of the fridge., other omelette split between the kids for lunch, they'll have it with some of the spinach and a corn on the cob each..... time for a :coffee: then see whats next!
 Check banking/update spreadsheet Done, love payday!
 General tidy round for as long as the kids are happily playing
    Pick up prescription Done
 Post letter to hospital reusing a rm survey jiffy envelope & rm stamps Done
 Rm survey to post Done
 Make chilli for tonights meal
 Check yougov/onepoll/isay for surveys 1 yougv and 2 isay done, will keep checking 1poll
 Share bath water and continue use ups of lotions and potions
 Hopefully make a start at reorganising kitchen cupboards Made a start, now time for a :coffee:
 Ironing - only what "needs" doing, the rest has been hung in the wardrobes and won't be ironed. Switch iron off before starting the last item.

Hopefully I'll be adding more as the day goes on but thats my start.
** Placed online order for nuts/seeds using 10% discount code - bulk bought but split between us and my parents so that we could reach the £35 free delivery.
** Washed a load on the quick 30 degree wash and hung on the line as its quite a nice day out there
** Had been looking into buying some kind of spice rack storage - then after a conversation with my dad he reminded me that when he helped me do my kitchen refurb a couple of years ago I'd bought a 4 high hanging spice rack from groupon but it was rubbish and I wasn't happy with it but didn't get round to sending it back. Anyway I'd kept it but instead of joining it all together I'd hung the 4 in different places and used for holding sponges in one cupboard, bin bags in another and the other two had an apron in each. So I've cleared them out, moved them into one cupboard and attached them to the inside of the doors individually and now all my jars/stock cubes are in the same place and I can easily be seen - I really don't know why I didn't think of that before! :D

    Take care all.

    Morning all :)
I used to dread that first day back DNMS :( though it was always ok once I got there.
Going to the market in the next town this morning, will also pop into the regular flea market to see if I can find anything suitable for my sales unit.
    Other things:
    HG raspberries with breakfast
Decide whether to accept an offer on an ebay item Accepted it, and now awaiting payment.
Look into sales unit on the way back from the market, tidy up ready for weekend if it looks as though it has been ransacked! Done
Ironing  Done - though I made OH do his own blimmin shirts!
Pick whatever is ready in the garden (there will certainly be raspberries) Raspberries, French beans, a few blueberries and some spring onions that went into tonight's curry :)
Sort out / trim / tie in climbing rose that seems to have gone mad this summer despite the drought Cut off rosehips / dead wood, tied it in so it is tidier. Will need to prune it properly once the leaves have fallen, as it is still a muddle :(

Watered those plants that needed it
My seeds sown the other day have come up :D

Make a Thai type chicken curry for dinner as OH requested 'something with some meat in it' :rotfl: This will also use up some oddments in the freezer :) Leftover quiche will do for lunch. Done
Take jelly over to DD's later - little GD decided she wanted to make jelly when we returned from our picnic yesterday, and of course they didn't set in time - and I don't want a large rabbit shaped jelly - just need to get it there in one piece :rotfl:Done
    Hoovered and dusted bedroom
    Checked banks
    That's me done for today!

Hope everyone has a good day :)
  • Morning all :coffee:
I did get my nsd yesterday after all :D although it wasn't quite as zen and relaxing as I had hoped that it would be in the end. My friend visited with her kids and dog, and I will hands up admit to not being good with dogs at all. Still, it was lovely to see her, and we managed a quiet 15 mins in the hot tub.
No real plans for today but it is just me and the kids. There are a couple of things that I need to do though. Need to make sure that we eat as much open food stuff as we can as it won't travel back well tomorrow. I also need to go through YNAB and reconcile as I haven't done that all week.
Have a good day everyone :D

    Hi Frugalistas,
Just a few things achieved on the frugal front today. Time is an issue as we are visiting Mum this afternoon & it's 140 mile round trip to the hospital. Anyway, I haven't been idle:
*Phoned new breakdown cover provider to ask for a refund, as due to a problem with their website, our money was taken twice.
*Quick laundry load to make the most of good free drying weather.
    *Watered veg.
*Picked a bowlful of ripe chillies. Froze half to use for recipes requiring fresh & strung the rest from the greenhouse eaves to dry.
*Picked another mugful of blackberries & added to bag in freezer.
*Did a couple of surveys for a brand forum I'm on at the moment. It isn't very onerous & I receive a £5 voucher every month for my caustic comments.
*Decided NOT to cancel our little camping trip next week so we won't lose the money. With Mum so poorly, we weren't in the mood & we need to visit her. Then it dawned on us that the distance between hospital & where we're staying is almost exactly the same as from home, so we are going to have our much-needed short break & still be able to visit Mum on the days we intended. Had already budgeted for food while we are there plus a bit extra for a meal at our favourite pub, & a few treats.
*Write shopping list for food we need to take with us.
*Decide what to bake. Taking a tin of home baked biscuits & a cake does help keep us out of expensive bijou coastal coffee shops.
*Pack a few rations for this afternoon's hospital trip. If we get held up for any reason, I'd rather avoid the prospect of paying a tenner for 2 sarnies & crisps!
Ok, must go & get ready to jump in the car as soon as mr f is back from work.
    Bye,
    F x

    Hi August-Austerees,

Morning!:coffee:Unusually, I am up early for work. Two more shifts then I have a week off work in which I will try not to spend much. :o

Then I have four days work and then a week off in which we are have just booked another holiday away overseas. We are going to try to be frugal-ish with it as we've already been away this year, though, admittedly, I was encountering a bout of mental ill health at the time. DW has paid and I will repay her for the package element and DW will provide spending money. I managed to get a package at 45% off as a last minute discount. We'll self-cater.

    Debt-Free-Nillionaire Continuity Plan Year Four:

    THINGS I WILL DO:

    * Check online banking. Done.

    * Take medication. Done.

    * Turn alarm clock off at the wall til tonight. Done.

    * Get some exercise. Done.

    * Make a list for holiday away. Started.

    * DW will go to the library to look for guidebooks. Got one.

Things don't have to be perfect to be wonderful.

Morning all :hello: last minute holiday sounds lovey ally
1LL would you mind sharing where you ordered your nuts and seeds from, so many places online, not always sure where to start.

    My list for today:
Pegged out a load I did overnight
Packed lunches all round, with hm cake :D
    Check banking
    Reconcile just for points cc
Decide who to cash out to with £co. Normally take cash but they are overnight a few bonuses at the moment so need to work out which one will work best for us
    Check for surveys
Managed not to go to the shops for the last 3 days despite writing a list on Tuesday. Won't go today either as we're away tonight staying wth friends, no spend there. I might go late Saturday in the hope of some ys bargains. Have MOC to spend.
Need to place an order for my small business, will message someone to see if they want anything to add to the order. Small profit will go to savings.
Tidy round before we leave tonight so it looks respectable when we're home tomorrow.

    Happy Friday folks.
  • Morning all :coffee:
We're heading off home today - need to check out by 11. I've already put away the clean dishes and emptied the cupboards. Need to pack clean vs dirty washing, and I definitely want one last dip in the hot tub before we go.
I've had a rotten night of sleep - think work is starting to play on my mind a bit, but I also had a bit of a fall out with Sky last night. Got an email about Sky Sports (which I couldn't get rid of when ex went as we were 'in contract' but I managed to get loads of other discounts). The email basically says that Sky Sports will no longer be available in SD in October, so I will have to have Sky Sports in HD and they will be charging me an extra £2 a month for the privilege. I rang them up to say I didn't want that and they have basically told me to suck it up and pay. I think that I should have the right to say no, as Sky aren't offering the service I'm contracted to any more. I think this is going to be long and drawn out over £2 a month, however I have not watched a single thing on Sky Sports since ex left. It's only still there because I can't get out of the contract....
Not sure what else today will bring, whether we're going straight home or stopping via anywhere else on the way. Both kids still sleeping so I'm going to have a cuppa and relax for a bit longer before I start.

    Morning all :)
Grrr just tried to check online banking and Nationwide's isn't working properly. So one bank checked and the other not - it showed a balance, but couldn't access the transactions - will have to try again later :(
Washed hair and left it to dry naturally
Must do some housework today
OH is measuring up to make a new mantelshelf - won't cost much. We found some nice old brackets at a flea market for £10 and he has the other materials and will do the work himself :) Hope it will look ok - we got rid of a really ugly fireplace surround when we bought the house, and have just had the old fireplace opening (where a range would have stood originally) with its nice brick arch over it, in which we had the wood stove installed. I like the simple look of that, but a mantelshelf looks more cosy and is nice to decorate for Christmas :)

    Other than that:
    Freeze some French beans
    Pesto pasta for dinner
A bit of tidying in the garden if the weather stays nice:)
    Water anything that needs it
Be ready to look after GCs if need be, as DD is at work and SiL is home, but finding looking after both of them on his own a bit of a struggle :(

But not planning to go anywhere or spend anything today!

PF, I get mine from a place called GRAPETREE, they used to have a store in town but its gone now but they have the website. I know they have stores still open elsewhere as we saw one whilst we were on holiday earlier in the month. https://www.grapetree.co.uk/ Not sure if they're the cheapest but we've always had good customer service and they regularly have discounts - there is a code for 10% off orders over £50 which I was able to use on top of some multibuys too.
