Wow jwil. I'm so impressed! You're a woman on a mission. You're doing so well! I can't believe how much you've achieved in such a short time. You're a one woman whirlwind when you put your mind to it. And decluttering your paint in the process! You must be doing well to inspire mr jwil too. Husbands never sit up and take note like that.
I was popping on to tell you the Amazon fire is reduced so well done on getting that already. Great work. I'm trying to get my list ready so I can pounce as the black friday deals come through.
You are doing brilliantly. Don't forget rest time too. I'm the worst for not giving myself any. Its kids or work or I'm being selfish so I know how hard it is.
Keep going you wonder xxxx
Thank you lovelyNeverendingDMP wrote: »Wow cant believe how busy youve been. Im inspired to consider filling and sanding my hallway. We started stripping it three years ago but some of the ceiling fell off and we are in limbo..
You have inspired me to fill and sand the walls round it ready to paint.
Thank youGood luck with sorting the hallway, it's nice to see progress isn't it

Hi everyone, it's been ages since I updated!
It's been so hectic. Little miss turned 4, had a lovely birthday, then came down with a sickness bug that night. Luckily it didn't spread any further and we managed to have our day out to Crealy for their Christmas Spectacular. The kids loved it and it was such good value for what they got (although not cheap!).
Operation Kitchen has finally nearly completed. It's all painted, and I've just painted the final bit of floor (had to do it in sections as it takes 16 hours to dry! - and longer here as the kitchen isn't heated, so the first lot I did took nearly 24 hours!). Just got the final cleaning up to do now, and find a new blind. It's not a fantastic decorating job by any stretch, but it looks a million times better and much cleaner! The garage floor paint has really made a difference - thanks to everyone who recommended it! I'm so pleased with it.
I don't know if it's coincidence or because I've been moving it around to paint behind and under, but our washing machine has diedWe've got a new one ordered, due to be delivered at the weekend. We knew it was on the way out but hoped it would last until after Christmas. We did think about getting it repaired as it's only a few years old, but decided to replace as we haven't looked after it well (it was unbalanced for ages) and of course it's done loads of nappies etc in it's time, so has earned it's keep. We will see if we can sell it on for parts or repair. We did with the last one we had.
I booked yesterday and today off to try and catch up with everything (and get the kitchen finished off). I wanted to go through all the finances and set my goals for next year. I haven't managed that, but have sorted out and wrapped all the presents, finished the kitchen. Am making a list of what's still needed to get. I've got nativity this afternoon so not sure how much I'll get done. I've left the oven on in the kitchen to try and help dry out the last bit of floor paint! I'll try and make something to cook in there so I'm not completely wasting the gas.
I'm still going to SW, but it's not happening really at the moment. We've been out and about a lot, and with various parts of the kitchen out of order or inaccessible while I've been decorating, it's been too much hassle. I'll get back on it now, but I've already decided that I'm going to rejoin in January and start afresh with new books etc. I'll end the year lighter than when I started it, so that's a bonus for me :T :T I've not lost anything since the summer, and so that's dragging me down when I see the online progress or my book. A fresh start will wipe the slate clean, and I'll hopefully see some progress next year."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". I've been thinking back to this time last year, and how I'd pretty much hit rock bottom. I was so anxious, I didn't want to go out at all, apart from when I had to for work and stuff. I didn't want to plan anything with the kids, due to my completely irrational fears that they were getting bugs etc. To come from that to where I am now is a massive thing, and I am so appreciative of feeling this different. I've had some really black times this year and it's been a real struggle at times, so I am so grateful I feel better now.
I haven't achieved huge amounts financially, and I haven't lost loads of weight, but my life has still changed immeasurably in a year.
And to top it all off, for the first time in 10 years, we have managed to put up our 6ft Christmas tree :j :j We have enough space to do it :T There is still a long way to go but there are real gaps now  "Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do".
