Congrats to your DD! It's good to hear positive A Level news.We are quaking in the lead up to GCSE results next week...our DD had all 7+ (A) grades in her mocks (bar French) and we are anxious about the 2,000,000+ grade downgrades reported in the media and how that will impact...ElmoR x2

Thanks everyone we are so pleased. We are so grateful that we are not having to go through the appeals procedure or supporting DD1 to find an alternative uni. ElmoR my heart goes out to you, we hardly slept the week in the run up to the day, especially with the constant twists and turns various governments were making and constant discussions on the news. Our childrens futures rest so much on these marks. A friend of DD1 had one of her A levels marked down by 2 grades, lucky enough she had an unconditional offer so it won't effect her at present. Her worry is...... what if she changes her career in the future and needs that A level, she is appealling but she only got a B in her mocks so is not sure how successful she will be. We took DD1 out for tea to celebrate to the local pub pity results day wasn't on the eat out to help out days. Anyway they had been broken into and they had taken up to 8 brand new picnic tables, which were bought to help them cope with social distancing and maintaining guest numbers. A cafe was broken into in the next village and they even took the seat cushions. We also had someone scoping out the allotments when we arrived yesterday, checking out the locks and fences. Hoping we won't lose stuff we've grown, we don't keep any expensive tools or machinary up there. Nothing appears to be safe even if its nailed down. I understand that times are hard, but stealing from people whose livihoods are already under pressure is so low.
Anyway on a more positive note we got a good deal on second hand fridge and freezer, one to cope with the glut, the other because the seal on the door has had it. So that will go in the garage with a brick to keep th door closed (the seal is one of many small problems we have with the fridge). We got them from the local hospice shop so have been PAT tested. They had only just put them out when I called. They were £150 for the 2, I checked online and they are going for £150 for one and the other was £179 so a big saving. I sold the clothes that I had on Facebook today and the lady gave me an extra £2 because she was half an hour late. It paid for one and half of the dresses that I had to buy for DD2 as she has expanded again. looking to put more stuff on there over the coming months, to pay for treats and clothes. Hopefully I won't be contantly checking my phone to see if they have been sold next time.
SPENDS
lets not talk about it
POSITIVES
1) DD1 is super happy.
2) Massive savings on fridge and freezer
3) Clothes sold (£12)
Have a super day everyone and those that need rain (we still haven't had any) hope you get some soon
