Karamcat/themadvix yes I'm still in one piece. I think betwen the wheelchair incident and the cartwheel incident I think I got off lightly. Rested it for a couple of days (hence no diary typing)my arm is tender and my hand is abit stiff but other that than that can't complain really.
The budget is still been tackled, quick trip to W's to get their eco friendly dishwasher tablets, so saved £3 instead of buying my usual brand, got some bicarb/white vinegar to replace my usual cleaner probably saviing about £4 in total as will keep me going for a couple of months. Went shopping on the way home from taking the little car to the garage to get the indicator sorted (loose wire) as it was about reduce o'clock. Several loads of bread ,gluten loaded and free, 2 x 4pints of milk, fruit, veg suet, and wine (on offer) and purchased a sewing mag as looking at making DD2 some clothes. Still managed to spend £92,34 (take off the wine and mag and it comes to £52.34, however it was spent so it is what it is) but should still be under budget once the A/C delivery arrives on Thursday.
Food production is going well, 2nd row of potaoes are up, loads of green beans, brocolli, carrots, blackberries, infact on Sunday, dinner other than their meat/stuffing/gravey was supplied from the allotment. Yesterdays tea was also from the alloment, the girls had leek and potatoe soup and me and the hubbster had peasent soup, Miss Giddychops had dog soup (contained no dogs). Yet to get the cauliflowers and winter salad started but is on the list.
The hubbster has appiled for that job with the council and apparently so has his current boss as his job is also under review. Lucky enough the hubbster knows the team and the sites the job covers as he worked on several of them for years in his previous job. Maybe that will give him a slight edge, who knows. He spoke to his other current boss who runs the local eco-centre where the hubbster teaches a couple times of years, and she is encouraging him to look at developing some more courses related to the countryside. He really enjoys teaching but the development and planning bit not so much, but anyway it gave him an ego boost to be asked. He was due to start the consultation process yesterday but has been moved to Thursday as his boss told him he was trying to find out if they still need to do it, as 1 of the 5 (4 jobs available) has applied for voluntary redundancy. Anyway it turns out they still have to jump through the hoops until its either approved or not. The chap has been there nearly 35 years but his team no longer exists, the work they did no longer exists and basically he wants out, but it will depend if the skills he has are still needed in the new posts. Queue no end to the worrying at the moment.

So decided its time to look at selling stuff to generate some extra money, its something I've never done before. DD1 was in the loft hunting for the elusive surf suits and came across one of the large staorage boxes that had clothes in that we had put away for DD2. Only problem is they are age 11-12 so, abit late. Went through it all and most is in good nick, a couple of things with labels still on (hangs head in shame). So I've taken some photos and listed them on the local facebook marketplace page, not sure if I've put them on too low or too high, for that matter. But if they don't sell they can always go to the charity shop. If these go we have lots of school uniform (remember the expensive stuff I got last year when DD2 moved school) hardly worn so that will be listed next. Must ask a friend what she does around collection etc. Fingers crossedxxxx

Good luck with the selling, CR - its all an experiment, I think. And your OH is doing really well - being *asked* to give a course is huge. My ex-partner/ colleague was asked back for years (he's over 70 now) at the local uni to run a Personal Development group, and it was always great for him to know that he was well thought of. Reputation is important when its patchwork/multi-stream income.

It's sounding good - agree with Karma, it sounds positive for your DH with the possible voluntary redundancy and the eco-centre wanting him to do more.
Good luck with the selling. I just let them come to the door with cash (pre-Covid.... Paypal maybe now? Or leave it on the step and hand sanitiser it before picking up??) - but I'm used to people coming for Freegle bits and fairly trusting! (Probably not entirely wise!) The thing that really irritates me about FB is people commenting 'Interested' - what exactly does that achieve?! Grr!
If FB doesn't work, I think bundles of children's clothes do go on Ebay, if you can match up and sell a bundle from one or two makes. It's amazing how much you can squeeze into a small parcel too!
Glad to hear the dog soup contained no dogs!Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

karmacat , I’d always known he was well liked as he is a really nice person, even if I do say so myself😉, but I’d not realised how well respected he was in his field of work. Pays to work hard and be a nice person.
themadvix thanks for the advice on fb. If it’s not gone by the weekend I’ll reduce the price.
We went to in-laws for socially distancing tea, which may protect us from bugs but not from people been tackless. FIL decided to announce how students in Scotland have not achieved their predicted grades etc etc whilst DD1 was within earshot. Continued even though I said it wasn’t appropriate to discuss right now. Honestly he did not engage his brain🤬.
The hubbster had to have sandwiches when he got back home as his mum never does enough food, always makes me laugh as his face always looks surprised when his portion arrives, even though this is been going on for years. I can see him mentally making sandwiches, deciding on the filling Etc whilst we are sat there 🤣.
Only other thing I did yesterday was to play around with overpayment calculator and budgets to see if we can overpay anymore, providing the hubbster keeps his job. It looks doable, it would reduce our mortgage term by nearly 5 years rather the current 2 and half years which is very appealing.
Time for yoga, then off to the allotment.
see you later

How insensitive of your FIL! Poor DD1.
Love that your DH plans his sandwich while he’s still eating at his parents! Fortunately that’s never an issue for my DH at his parents, but my mum (having a small appetite herself and only having daughters) has never got the hang of how much young men eat (although I think we’re pushing the young label a bit these days!).Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

@themadvix Totally with on you FB sales and the pesky 'interested' post. !!!!!! are you supposed to do with that?!
I've tended to do cash in envelope through the letterbox, leaving the items by the front door for buyers to collect contact-free. It hasn't always worked perfectly but I've never felt unsafe. I'm wary of PayPal as you hear so many horror stories of buyers charging back afterwards leaving sellers high and dry, but I'm probably too sceptical!Choose kind4 -
Went to allotment yesterday, harvested oodles of basil, french beans, 🥕, blackberries, beetroot and grapes 🍇. The beetroot brownies were a disaster DD1 said it tasted like squishy dirt. Had hoped the hubbster would eat it as he will eat anything but he said no way. Can’t even feed it to the dog as it has chocolate in it, so fed it to the bin. When I was making it I thought it was rather a lot of beetroot (new recipe)Need to search out my old recipe that I used last year as that was not dirt tasting. Made lots of pesto which had with pasta and french beans for tea. Will have to find room in the freezer for the rest, a little bit of sunshine to look forward to in the winter.
The hubbster was at his temp job yesterday. He starts his consultation today and isn’t looking forward to it. He really down about the way teams are been restructured etc which is not like him as he’s the type of person who’s glass is always full. Me on the hand is the type of person whose glass has been stolen and they’ve left a pile of 💩 in its place that I have to fashion into a glass, bake and then drink from. Had to give him the ‘ not for rath, not for ruin , but for the rohirm speech from lord of the rings this morning before he left for his meeting.
DD1 is in the process of making her computer case out of the hubbster’s old wetsuit, which is looking really good and very unique. She felt the £20 odd pounds to buy one was better in her pocket than chicken Currys. DD2 is off out with her PA today, which hopefully will give me time to hunt down some printer ink.
POSITIVES
1) Passed on my mse ways to DD1.
2) looking forward to making blackberry crumble bars
Enjoy your day

Sounding good (except for the beetroot brownies, lol)! I'm liking the Lord of the Rings references! And well done to DD1 for that computer case.
