been a pleasant day, yoga done, dog walked, DD2 managed to keep it together and went to my mums, had chips and mushy peas for lunch, and best of all I had 4 hours on my own as DD1 and the hubbster went for a walk in the nearby national park. I had great plans of doing lots in those 4 hours but I came home and occupied the prone poisition. So although I got nothing done, I did relax. No noise, no arguing kids, no demands, no pressure, utter bliss.

Just done yoga and then done day 1 of my 30 day exercise challenge. Gone from super relaxed to super sweaty. Don't think my heart rate been that high for a while, had to google what some of the exercises were. Russian twist sounds more like a refreshing cocktail than a bloomin exercise. Need to shift this mummy tummy although I have fond memories of its purpose, the eldest is know an adult and the tummy is becoming an unwelcome guest, one that refuses to leave. I suspect the chips yesterday, the colins the other day and the multiple cocktails at the weekend are not helping. I'm still 10st 11lbs so I've not put anything on but its time to get rid of the comfort blanket. I think the fact that DD1 and the hubbster went out walking in my favourite area yesterday and the only reason I didn't go is because I know i'm not fit enough. Years ago I would of yomped up that mountain but now the only yomping I do involves my mouth. So day 1 (again lol) has begun.

Well done CR - you're off to a good start. (Btw some of us have mummy tummies and aren't even mummies 😆)

Just seconding Fortune here
I'm doing pretty well on lockdown eating, but I've definitely put on weight - I'm at the comfort limit of my clothes!

Karamcat love your reaching the comfort limits of your clothes, will have to use that in the future
. I think the challenge is going well. Miss Giddychops has joined me for the last time. Picture overweight, sweaty, red in the face, out of breath women and daft dog joining in doing jumping jacks because it is so exciting, or trying to lie on me whilst doing crunches, or sitting in front of me whilst doing squats hoping for a pat of the head but settling for a waft of the ears or even better hoping beyond hope that my hand will land on her head whilst doing russina twists. She is offically banned now, as its hard to do them whilst trying not to laugh at her antics and giving me those puppy dog eyes that say ' you don't love me'. I 've also joined the nhs weight loss site and was happy to see (well for now) that they have an alternative to the C25k its called strength and flex.I've not tried it yet but nice to know when I get bored with the one I'm doing at the moment there an alternative. Walking everyday and cycling weather permiting. I've set myself the challenge of walking up the mountain with the hubbster and DD1 before she goes to uni, so hopefully that will keep me motivated. Motivation is definately needed because O lordy did I ache and I've not been doing that much.
Other news is DD2 arrived home Sunday morning at 3am as she couldn't settle, so plans for Sunday and Monday were partly scuppered. She did tell us we wouldn't know she was here and to give her, her due we didn't the first day!!!!!!!!!!!!
The hubbster and I managed to sit down yesterday to discuss finances and plans if he's made redundant this week. We have enough savings to cover 6 months of bills etc if we are careful, looked at what could be trimmed from our expenses and where we could make savings. Foods expenses have gone through the roof since the start of March. Last month we managed to spend nearly £1,000 and thats with us cutting down on meat and getting stuff off the allotment, nearly passed out once we added up the figures from the bank statement. Plans for the future are flexible. The food bill definately needs to attacked with gusto. If he's not made redundant we are going to increase our savings to £20,000 and that should give us a comfortable buffer if it happens at a later date.
We were hoping to go into town today as DD1 wants to get some walking trousers etc and then walk to the allotment for a picnic lunch but the rain has arrived.

Still loving Miss Giddychops
I've checked on the NHS website, and my BMI is bang at the border of normal/overweight (if I'm right about what I weigh, which ... I've no idea!).
Mmmmmm, hang on ... nearly £1k on food? Presumably your stocks really went up if you spent that much?Anyway, good luck with the budgetting and the buffer creation.2023: the year I get to buy a car4 -
Karmacat yes our freezers, cupboards are full and we also had a big birthday which involved buying alot of alcohol as DD1 wanted cocktails and we don't (but we do now) have any of the alcoholic add ins. We were also spending alot on snacks hence my waist, belly, thighs etc expanding. Our food bill is usually half that amount. Never mind just need to focus on the future and keep an eye on things.
We went into town in the end and walked to the allotment, we almost had a major disaster. We came to a road that DD2 wasn't used to crossing and luckly enough I had hold of the chair. When she attempted to go up the drop down curb( badly maintained) the chair went off to the side and nearly threw her out of it and ripped the tyre off the chair. If I'd not had hold of it the chair would of tipped over and we probably would of been in A and E. Makes me feel sick just thinking about it. However she was physically OK , but badly shaken and intailly refused to get back into the chair as she was so frightened. It took alot of convincing to get her to get back in it. Luckly enough I managed to fix it, but I've definately done something to my arm as my hand is stiff ( already have nerve damage from a previous chair incident). So our pleasant walk was totally ruined and we didn't stay at the allotment.
The rest of the day has been OK.

That all sounds really difficult, what a shock for you all with DD2's chair. Hope your arm/hand is ok.4
