Afternoon allgreet009.gif. Painted the outside window sills this morning (after having new tiles on the roof a month ago); bit of a rushed job but it looks OK. Tea will be fish fingers (M&S), spaghetti, chips, lettuce and baby tomatoes. Have a great weekend all: It really is exceptionally mild at the moment* :)

*which is not good, but it means the paint will dry quicker.
BLOODBATH IN THE EVENING THEN? OR PERHAPS THE AFTERNOON? OR THE MORNING? OH, FORGET THIS MALARKEY!

    Evening everyone!

Joannasmum Big hugs to you and your DD. I remember when our budgie died and my two DDs and I cried for a weekend! Pets are part of your family and you need to grieve for them too.

I've had a lovely afternoon as my very kind boss let me leave work early so that I could see DD1 play in a special Jazz Day concert in the Palm House in Liverpool. I was then invited to her Junior school to see her receive a special award, so I'm one very proud mum today (I am most of the time). It's her birthday tomorrow so we're going bowling and then for a meal. I can't believe she'll be 11, only seems like yesterday I was holding her little 7lb body in my arms! :)

I'm going around to a neighbour's tonight for a 'Girls Only' party so I'll try not to drink too much! :D
    Have a good evening.

    Hi all

Just done the speed round again today. I got a bit out of kilter when I clicked on some of the hall of fame photos and realised I was speed reading 3 days ago! Haribo - you wee devil.

Moiliere - sounds lovely the resting place. Get DH over there soon so he can say goodbye to his Mum, a wee pensive time at the burial place with his Dad. PenPin - just love the chooks. We have another new poster! Welcome. So sorry to hear about the pet things. My darling wee Cookie Hamster is 18 months old now and a bit doddery! I will miss him when he goes. Will have to do the death thing with the DGSs.

Really a bad day (and busy) at work but good because I have just about finished my Christmas shopping - huge stuff delivered to work today. I did a huge online buy last weekend and it is all coming in!

Can't wait to see my boys on Sunday - I get withdrawal feelings. DGS3 is going to be changed again!!!

I hopefully can drive next Wednesday!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have warned folk at work that I will need 2 hours off to go out 'shopping'!

Sorry if not mentioned you personally but thinking of you all.

    Love GB xxxxx

    Will

JackieO glad to read your upbeat post, also glad to hear that you are back knitting...good sign

PenPin...sorry to hear that you are not the best but love your chooks...OH won't hear of having any, not sure why.

Grannybroon, congrats on the completed shopping...still haven't sorted out my cupboard to know what I have, should do that over the weekend, knitting still and am waiting for wool to come to finish.

Snowy...you can drivel with me any day!

Hugs and kind thoughts to all those I haven't mentioned...have taken half the day to read thread so have forgotten most details, but you are all in my thoughts .

Hugs to those in need & welcome to the newbies

To those who think I have the patience of a saint with my lodger, it's not true. I do remind her constantly of the house rules, but unfortunately she can't retain the rules in her memory. I don't want to have an out & out row with her as I do need the rent she pays me.
Hope every one has a good weekend

Hi it’s been a sad day on the thread huge hugs to every one:grouphug: :grouphug:
PenPin the chickens look very contented in your garden
Well I have done quite a lot today wm on several times and made some sticky toffee pudding for my oh.
Been to see the gastroenterologist today I am quite proud of my self as I managed to raise some issues I was having problems with. And i feel so much now.:D

I have a little cat (well not little at all as you can see by the photo) he has lived with us three years now .
My last cat was 21 when she died and then shortly after I lost my mum,
He turned up around the time of the funeral and I did not want another cat but he was so loving he moved in to the conservatory as he had lived in the cow shed at a farm at the back of our house and he smelt like a cow and makes us laugh every day

    Hello everyone

And especially to Joannasmum....I am so sorry to hear about your kitty. What a horrible nasty shock for you.

Mioliere - same for your mum's cat too. Your mum will miss her little feline friend of 21 years.

This week has been horrendously busy at wo*k - it's only a till job, but OMG it was incredible the amount of stuff we shifted this year. Mostly alcohol, wouldn't you know! We get lots of people coming up from southern Ireland to this supermarket, and as they get better value they do a lot of stocking up. Lots of them are all fixed up for Christmas already!!

Peem, thank you for that link. It really does make me squirm at the amount of processed food that goes through the tills. I know lots of people don't have the time to cook from scratch every single day, but I do find it amazing that people will buy odd combinations, eg potatoes and frozen mash at the same time. Why not make extra and keep it for the next day? I guess it's like that article says, and that a lot of skills are simply being lost thanks to the whole convenience and throwaway culture that is continually pushed at us.

Shez, you still up dear?? Hope you're not still making croissants, leave yourself something to do tomorrow!!!

    Bye for now everyone

    Snowy
