pizza really is a big ripoff in terms of value for money.
Bit of dough, sprinkle of cheeze and voila ! £15 !!! - now that's profit!
how long do you have to work to earn that £15 (net) to pay for it ???
bad deal. - even at £6

Bad deal, really? So which pizzas in PizzaExpress are £15 each?

The deal on this thread is an excellent deal, you can order the cheapest and most expensive pizzas (or other mains) from the menu, and get the most expensive free, how's that a "bad deal"?

Back to your £15 quote. You aren't comparing like with like in the UK, so how is it a bad deal for a restaurant, who in the main do make food using decent ingredients (compared with poor chains like PizzaHut). Restaurants have overheads, paying rent, staff, electricity, ingredients etc.

You aren't just buying the pizza, you are eating out. If you want a cheap good quality pizza get a stonebaked froze one from Waitrose, for a couple of quid and eat it at home!

    Reclaimed thanks to this site:
£175 Abbey Mortgage Repayment Fee, £170.03 Capital One Bank Charges £418.07 Lloyds TSB Bank Charges, £2,671.55 Mis-sold Endowment Policy, all for OH
  • Do you think that Pizza Express would reinforce the only 1 voucher per table, I wanted to go with OH and kids. Do you think that we should just go and then just take a chance and play dumb? My OH would be really embarrased if they say anything, hates my moneysaving ways.

Just to let you know that If you do this or use the voucher on the days when it is not available then the waiter will have to pay for it out of their own pocket. I work for pizza express and have had this done to me because we have a cash out system and incorrectly used vouchers are not honored.

If anyone has any questions on pizza express il be happy to answer them :o

I didn't have a hugely pleasant experience with this. Our bill had the cheapest meal deducted. I would have complained as even though it was only a few pounds I would not have been there without the voucher. However my wife refused to let me make " a fuss " ! The waitress then stuck a machine with pay gratuity yes or no in my face. The pizza itself was nice but not enough for me. I liked the ambience.

Surely the waiter should notice the voucher isn't valid (if it's presented on invalid days) and tell the customer before they take payment and request the full amount...

We used ours on Wednesday. I was a bit disappointed with my La reine Pizza but it was okay. Milk was only 90p for those hoping to get a real cheap deal but the menu is on their web site so it's easy to check it out before you go.
The Sainsbury vouchers are valid all week, not just Mon-Thurs..
  • Found out about this offer about 5.30 tonight ie the last day of the offer and rushed out to buy the times. It could not have come at a better time - my friends birthday is tuesday and there is five of us going to pizza express. I recently got made redundant and am pregnant (so job offers not exactly flooding in funnily enough!) so although I said I would go i was dreading spending so much of my jobseekers money on one night out. Sorted! Now I just have to broach the subject of not being able to split the bill five ways as we usually do (especially since I can't indulge in the wine now either!).... hopefully they will all understand, they all earnt twice what I did even when I did have a job......
