I've woken up and feel like death.. think I've got the dreaded lugry  just what I don't need when I have so much to be getting on with!

Got my last pay from the supermarket.. topped up some more of my sinking funds.

Still trying to give the energy drink a day up, I just have one can but it's like £2.35 a can now and even with my 10% discount that's outrageous but I'm addicted, hope I can beat it.

Signed up to some study skills workshops online which will hopefully help me become more productive and more effective in managing my time coz I'm gonna fluff up if I don't get my head in the game.

    Have a good day,

Also I'm thinking of switching my Halifax account to either Monzo or Starling.. I have both and have used both for over a year but which one shall I use as my main account?

    Any suggestions welcome :)

Just started a full switch to starling, I've moved all my pots over from monzo so everything is in one place.. this means I'll just be able to set my sinking funds to go straight into the spaces every month.. changed my student finance so it will go into that account too..

Now it's all in one place (well will be by the 12th) I actually have £2335.89 in my accounts. Now people will be like and?? but I feel like this is an achievement for me in itself, granted £500 is an emergency fund and £1300 is sinking funds but for the first time in my adult life I actually feel organised with money.

I have money sat in my account for direct debits, I have got sinking funds (with money in!) for Christmas, car insurance, MOT/Service, clothes, uni things, birthdays and also have a separate pot for food and fuel.

I just reread my first diary on here from 2016, when I'd been dumped by my ex whilst I was working 8 hours away, I had a bag of clothes and my car.. granted my debt has gone up a lot since then.. and I still have a mental fight sometimes about money but I think what I'm trying to say is it is possible! I still have a looong way to go to be debt free but it's still possible to change those habits..

Now I just need to change my study habits haha.. this assignment is still no where near finished.. so off I go again..

Have a good weekend people :)

  • Hey, thought I'd drop a note.

I completed msc as a full time student last year and worked during the week. Was hard going but worth it!

I'm a dyslexia study skills tutor for uni students, my advice would be to draw up a to do list, section it into priorities and do a weekly timetable where you assign these tasks to do in specific times. That way you don't get the hmmm what shall I do now thoughts and feelings and then end up doing nothing.

    Good luck!

Like your 'reflection' on the past and how far you have come. We don't always stand still and take stock. Well done.
I too struggle with getting things done. Unfortunately perfectionists don't start something for fear of it not being perfect. Have a few phrases which may help 'Don't get it right, get it written' and 'Just enough is good enough'. My friend at uni used to say "just bang it out". It's true as once you have something down on paper you have something to tweak and edit. Essays have a set formula which can be tackled in small stages.
My motto is JFDI Like Nike, but with a four letter word!!!!

    Best wishes.

I've survived my first 3 days in my new job.. It's always exhausting learning something new and finding your way round a new place.

I'm there Mon-Fri next week so that will be good to get into the swing of things.

Still plodding on with the assignment, going to get it finished and sent tomorrow. Then Sunday I plan on spending with OH probably doing some shepherding.. I feel like I'm neglecting him at the moment.

Then I need to plan the next 2 assignments and sort out placement and my E learning for that.. oh and it's christmas soon...

    The fun never stops!!

Blasting out a bit of Tina Turner whilst bashing out the rest of this assignment. I'm so ready to be done with it now. Got some nice things to do afterwards as a reward for getting it done.. yes I have to bribe myself! ha.

    Have a good weekend

Did Mon-Fri this week at work, learned loads and worked in lots of different areas but goodness I'm shattered.. didn't sleep well last night as my anxiety was really bad.

I have no idea why I get myself into such a state about things.. I think it's probably just the stark reality of how hard I'm going to have to work and how knackered I'll be.. however if it means I can pay all my debt off by September and then go on the bank for my last year at uni I will... I'm determined to graduate with as little debt as possible.

I've got the weekend off, my last one for the foreseeable so I'm just doing some uni work today and catching up on washing and housework.

10 days until pay day.. think I might start Christmas shopping next week.

    Have a good weekend everyone!
