Enjoy your weekend. Hope it's a good one
Hello! Glad your first week went well, I'm glad you like it being back in an academic environment. I have a love hate relationship with it :rotfl:
Oh heck that's one busy month your going to have! I admire people who can do weeks and weeks straight.. I just can't I need one day off a week to get squared up with everything! Probably doesn't help that my sleep pattern is awful and I'm permanently exhausted!
Have a fab weekend too

It's less a case of being able to do weeks and weeks in a row and more a case of having no choice. My sleep has been awful but I kind of have no choice on this front. Haha.0

Wanted to stop by and say hi, from another mature student, doing a PT OU biology degree, seeking a full-time job, paying off debts and saving for a home.Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.0

Nothing much to report really, I've started the recruitment process for the bank post I was offered.. I've handed in my notice at the supermarket and finish at the end of the month.
Had the interview yesterday for the weekend domestic post but won't hear till Monday.. I hate being kept waiting! This is the one I want as the hours and money are good but I have the other if I'm not successful...
Uni is full on trying to do lots of reading and learning about different things for some assignments we are doing..
I also am a top procrastinator I really need to get on top of that because I'm wasting time when I should be studying. I also need to kick the fizzy drinks and eat better because my sleep pattern is also terrible at the moment.
Off to work this afternoon then a day of sorting sheep tomorrow.
Have a good one everyone.

I've only gone and bloody got it!!
I'd been thinking over the weekend that if I was offered the weekend position I'd take it which I have. I won't get another job that pays the same money and it's 8-4 so reasonable hours.
Once I get started this means I should be able to clear all of my debt in around 14 months... which is pretty insane.. I just need to get more motivated to crack on with things seen as I'm good at being a bit of a lazy procrastinator.
Hope everyone had a nice weekend!

Well done Welly. Things happen for a reason and so glad that the job is the one you wanted.
Debt clearing is on it's way.
Yes I am a procrastinator too, hence on here this morning. Still in my dressing gown.
So you've already completed your first year too.
Don't know when you have a placement, but I have a second year starting next week. Have not met her yet,but the other educator has and says she is going to be ok. It's always a relief to meet the new student and works both ways. She has already arranged her study days and training so that bodes well.
Good luck and best wishes.0 -
I am officially a lazy procrastinator... uni work is boring and I can't seem to get motivated to do much. I think it's partly a fear of failing as I'm not really sure what I'm doing for one of the modules.
I've seen my tutor about it but she wasn't helpful at all.
I've got 30 days until the first bit of work is due in so going to make another plan today on how to tackle it.
Waiting for the paperwork for the weekend job to be sorted I had my ID check last week and an occy health app next week. Hopefully won't have to wait too long for a start date.
The bank job are hounding me to start but I still have 3 weeks to do at the supermarket and I'm actually thinking of withdrawing from this because I have so much on at uni and working every weekend. I got told that it would be a while before they would need me to start hence why I hadn't withdrawn sooner.
Anyway off I go to write some more of this assignment then I'm off to work this afternoon.
Have a good weekend everyone!

4 more shifts to go at the supermarket and I can't wait. The stress of shifts being changed and then changed back and back again is just adding to stress I don't need plus finding it really hard finishing late on a Wednesday as not sleeping well so knackered at uni on a Thursday.
Going out tonight for someone's birthday that my OH is friends with. Kind of dreading it, last time we went to a wedding do literally no one spoke to me all night. Never have I ever been in such a cliquey situation it was horrible.
I have plenty of my own friends so don't think it's me that's awkward or I hope it's not. Guess it's hard when your the outsider.
Been working out wages and things once I start my new job, think I might use my wages to pay the bills then use all of my student loan to pay off debt when it comes through.
Looking forward to a week or so between jobs to get on top of the uni stuff going to have to be more on the ball. This hasn't been helped by my new contraception making me feel mental and all over the place. I'm not sleeping properly, I'm anxious all the time, convinced my OH is sick of me... I really hope it settles down soon.
Have a good weekend.

So I officially finished at the supermarket on Saturday, was sad to leave my colleagues but I certainly won't miss the job. Not got a start date for my new job as of yet but hopefully won't be long.
Quite glad to have a week off uni this week, got things at home to catch up on and got an assignment to write for uni.
I've had a change of track with the debt, I have decided to pay my credit card off first as it is my smallest debt and it's one I can over pay easier than the others and making payments is motivating me to get rid of it quicker.
Anyway have a great day folks

Well got an email yesterday confirming my post at the hospital. Then got a phone call to arrange to attend the trust induction as they are only once a month in my local town.. so I will be officially employed again on Monday :j
Here was me thinking I'd have a nice few weeks to catch up with things! Alas means I'll get a wage in November.
Got my trust induction day on Monday, then on Wednesday and Friday (my days off from uni) I'm starting my job induction. The manager was really good with me being at uni and not being able to do every day Monday - Friday. Then the week after we have a week off uni so I'm doing a full week at work Mon-Fri 8-4.
Least I'll have a few weekends free before I start doing just weekends.
I'm excited for NHS discount and I'm excited for weekend enhancements.. yes working every weekend won't be amazing but this means I can pay my debt off so much faster!
I also just worked out since I started this diary I've paid almost 3k off my debt.. my total today is £12976
Not masses but considering the things that have happened since last year (I just reread my diary for some inspiration) it's headed in the right direction.
Right off I go to write some more of this assignment..
Have a good day everyone
