The living situation whilst it sounds like a dream is very complicated and causes us both a lot of stress however it is what it is and for now my partner insists I use the extra money to pay off my debt. I also appreciate I'm very lucky in that I have so much left every month. Looking forward to making a big dint in this debt.

Hope everyone has had a nice weekend.. it's been a lovely day here in Yorkshire but I've been stuck inside defrosting the freezer and doing housework.
Was at work Thursday Friday and yesterday and it's getting worse. We are now expected to open up with one member of staff when there has always been 2. It would be fine but there is too much for one person. As a result of running round trying to do 2 peoples jobs I've hurt my back again. So I'm annoyed. Back in tomorrow and Tuesday then off till Saturday I hope my back will ease.
Just paid for my parking permit for uni £64 had £40 saved for it so have had to use £24 from the food budget, I knew this month would be a squeeze till I get my student loan.
Listed some stuff on ebay and vinted but no ones interested.

It's Saturday, it's a beautiful day out there, OH has gone to a show with his pal I'm at work at 1 so just going through some stuff.
My back is no better if anything it's as bad as it was at it's worst... annoying as I only had my last physio session last week and we were both chuffed with how well I was.
Got an interview on Tuesday for the bank housekeeping job at the hospital down the road, no idea if I'll be able to fit it in round uni but going to go and see whats on offer. Hopefully will hear about the other one this week too.
On the plus side my debt is now under 14K it's £13,972 - granted only just but it's going in the right direction.
Royally messed up my budget this month so trying to hide until I get paid. Will I ever learn how to be good with money??
Keep plodding on.

It takes time to completely change your mindset and habits with money. You'll get there on the budgeting front but you just need time.
Hope the potential job is suitable for you. I'm sure you'll smash the interview0 -
Well I had my interview this morning it seemed to go well, I will know tomorrow. As it's ad hoc not sure if it would be enough hours which is a shame as it seems a lovely place to work..
Just having a quiet day today, haven't slept well and got a migraine starting.
Have a nice day everyone.

Work this afternoon and Saturday and I then start uni next week but I have a week off work which will be nice.
I am crap at budgeting. This morning I'm going to sit and re do my whole budget and try and start again. I also seem to be confusing myself with my student loan money, I wonder if when I get it I should put it in the savings account I have with my bank which my bills account is with and move the money in each month like a wage.
It may stop me mindlessly spending, it also might not but got to try and see.
OH has said I can make the spare room into somewhere to study, I've found a second hand desk and chair on the marketplace so hopefully can get those. I struggle without a proper place to study.
Hope you have a good day.

I just got a phone call offering me the bank post I was interviewed for on Tuesday, I've accepted. I might work it along side the supermarket job haven't decided yet.
To make things even more complicated I have another interview in a few weeks for the weekend NHS job I've applied for. This one is the one I want, it's the most money and I wouldn't have to worry about anything uni related as it's only weekends.
I've got my desk and chair picked up and just on with sorting out all my uni stuff into my new office space. Feel so much better having a dedicated area. Also got my student loan text yesterday so that should hit the bank Monday or Tuesday then wages on the 30th.
It's much needed but I have re done my budget and think I've worked out what I'm going to do with everything. Determined to get the car paid off ASAP but I need to top up my EF again after lending some to the OH for a bill he will hopefully pay me some back at the end of this month and next.
Anyway I'm off to walk the dogs round the field and enjoy the sun..
Have a good weekend

Been back at uni 2 days and my head is battered already. So much to take in and so much to be getting on with. Good to be back tho and cracking on this year will fly.
Got my student finance on Monday, it's all split to pay the bills for the next 3 months, emergency fund and sinking funds have been topped up.
Wages will be in on Monday, getting around £750, I will use £250 to top up the sinking funds (car insurance and MOT are both due January) then £500 will go into the pot to pay off my car finance. As I've put money from my loan aside for food and fuel my whole wage should be going towards the car loan pay off every month.
OH owes me £1350 but I know I will just get that as and when so will just go straight to the car pay off fund.
Really hoping I get the weekend job on the 4th, that money would make a massive difference!
Anyway off to see my friend and her new baby later and I'm very excited.
Have a good day everyone.

It's Saturday, survived my first week back at uni but lordy we have so much to do! I've been trying to get a good start on things..
I found an amazing text book in the library at uni which my mate booked out, loads and loads of info in it and the most up to date copy. I always try get books cheap on ebay etc when I need them but no such luck with this one as it's so new and £148 new.. Anyway came home on Thursday and OH ordered me it off Amazon and it arrived yesterday and I've hardly put it down!!
Nothing much to report on the money front, get paid on Monday so some is going to sinking funds and the rest to my car debt and a physio appointment as I'm still in agony. Sitting makes it worse.
Going to have to see the placement unit about things as I've already spoken to them about my placement being over an hour away and they basically said I have to find accommodation and stay down there which is fine to a point but the problem at the moment with my back is I find it unbearable to sit in the car for longer than 40 mins. Hopefully I will be sorted by then but will have to see.
Have had a week off work and it's been lovely, got an appointment for ID check for the job I accepted on Wednesday then that interview on Friday. Fingers crossed for that!

How was your first week? I had my first week of the MA which was fine, great even. Being in an academic environment is like coming home to me. What's put me in a slight panic is the four weeks straight in October with only 1 day off from both uni and work! Haha.
Enjoy your weekend. Hope it's a good one0
