    I sound like a right miserable git don't I!

Still just plodding along.. I've been officially moved a week kick myself everytime I come back I get to live here with my best friend..

I've got almost full time hours at work from next week so that's good. Felt the last few days I know a bit more of what I'm doing and dare I say I've enjoyed it?? Feel like I perhaps have a purpose and have been getting some very kind comments.

Have had a few good NSD went and did a big shop last week to stock up so I wasn't giving work all my wages back.

    Keep plodding on..

Haven't posted for a few weeks nothing much to report really, plodding on at work.

Had to have an appointment with a physio last week as been struggling with my back. Luckily she saw me on a Sunday (her day off) as she could tell how much pain I was in. Got 3 prolapsed disks.. keep doing my exercises and she's sure it will get better even tho it's been worse than ever these last few days.

Doing 35 hours a week at work which is good for the bank balance but I'm exhausted literally go to work come home and sleep. Not having 2 days off together so can't go anywhere or do much which is a bit annoying.

Need to find my fitbit charger and get out walking again desperate to lose weight. I'm bigger than ever.

Decided to make my main goal paying off the credit card.. I keep looking at the loan but that's fixed so best to sort the card first although it's 0% until June 2021.

Pay day on Friday need to top up my emergency fund but my budget is all done and set to go. just got to keep plodding on..

  • Just skim read your diary and thought I'd pop on to say how great you're doing :T

I did similar to you back in my late 20s, went to uni to become a radiographer and I worked in a supermarket to earn money alongside, mainly Saturdays as I had a young daughter. Stick with it, it is worth it. I graduated in 2008 and I'm now a band 7, I still work Saturdays in a supermarket as I only like working 2 week days at the hospital as I have 5 children and don't like putting them in childcare much.

Balancing life, work and study can be hard, especially when you're on placement. My advice would be, don't look too far ahead, focus on 6 week blocks and whatever needs doing in that time frame. Look too far ahead and it feels overwhelming :o

Also, make sure you leave some time for fun. You won't be able to do your best if you burn yourself out with all the drudge. Take care xx

Thank you for your reply, you've done great especially having kids. I have no idea how anyone does it with children.. I don't know if I'm coming or going half the time.

I'm debating if to drop my hours back at the end of August to get sorted out before we start back at the end of September. I should know better about occupational balance and all but it's hard when you make just enough to pay the bills..

It will be worth it tho.. this won't be forever..

Feeling really out of sorts these last few days totally wiped out and not there if that makes sense, hope I'm not coming down with something. I've been working loads and it's exhausting, because I'm doing extra I seem to be the one plugging all the gaps.

OH is flat out working as it's silage time, he's in a foul mood because he's tired and I'm in a foul mood coz I'm tired and I hardly see him. Great combo.

He's said I can use the rent money I've been saving on myself so I plan on saving enough till I have enough to pay my credit card in full. There's £650 in there at the moment.

Currently got £550 in my emergency fund, £100 in christmas and £200 in the car service/MOT/insurance pot.

Got standing orders for all the above which go out of my account on the 1st of each month.

Just got to keep plodding on.

Ok so was talking to my other half the other night. He wants me to use the money I would be giving him for rent to pay off some of my debt. So I'm now saving it to pay off my car finance. Got a settlement quote of £4685.97. Obviously I can't pay this off right now but it's the debt I'm going to work towards paying off first. I can then snowball the rest.

Determined to get this gone asap.

Just realised I repeated myself in those last 2 posts. Nothing much to report.. still having physio at £40 a time.. not sure how much it's helping.. I feel rough for ages afterwards, only seem to feel ok for a few days then back to see her again.

Plodding on at work.. decided to take a week off in August, I will loose money but I need it. I want to go home and see my family and just catch up with things really.

Debating if to try matched betting again.. even just a few hundred a month would make a difference.. determined to get rid of this debt as fast as possible... I hope I can do it so I can give up work in my 3rd year and focus fully on my degree.

Also got an email yesterday saying I need to get more information for student finance about my partners income, till that is sorted I'll only get the minimum...

Nothing much to report still plodding along.. going to go down to 3 days at work for the rest of summer, this is due to some health problems that have cropped up and I do need to do some reading etc for my next year at uni.

Need to get my car brakes doing, going to a local garage refuse to pay the £90 an hour labour charge at the dealers.

Sent off my partners tax return for student finance, hope that gets sorted by the beginning of term. Crazy I'm going into second year already!

Still plodding along.. total debt at present is: £14,371.

I'm hoping or maybe being over ambitious but I'd like to pay this off in 12 months. Simply so in my final year at uni I can concentrate fully on my degree.

Having a few days off work as reduced my hours so been good to catch up on a bit of reading and do some bits and bobs.

I've been practicing some yoga and working out, I'm down 2 lb this week and I feel great for it! Hoping this will help with the stresses of uni once I go back. Looking forward to getting stuck back into studying.
