Their rates are attractive, and no smart meter required......BUT
how bothersome to have to give monthly readings!
and its seemingly impossible to speak to them. Having moved from 'position 9' to 'position 3' they offered to transfer me to a priority callback position, I accepted....they didn't return my call. So I called again and having got to 'position 3' rejected the callback option only to find myself in 'position 9'.
So amateurish!!0 -
I did try to call them this morning, but gave up after about ten minutes having moved one place in the queue, and still being at position 9. Not ideal.0

I joined YE last week on the 11th. I logged in to my account a few days ago and there is a box on the page you get after log in which says 'account balance' and this figure was a few pounds less than the direct debit which they had by then taken from my account. The correct amount of the DD was shown when I went to 'transactions' and it was the only transaction shown which is what I expected, so I didn't worry too much about this odd figure given as account balance. I've just logged in again and the 'account balance' has reduced by a few more pounds - everything is still as it should be in 'transactions'.
So what is this mysterious figure? Are they estimating my usage on a day by day basis and reducing the figure to take account? That's what I'd guess they must be doing, and I suppose they're welcome to do so but they really ought to make it clear to avoid confusion.0 -

You are correct - that is what they are doing. I can't remember if it's just the daily standing charge they take or that plus an estimate of your daily charge.
A tip for you - if you have E7, when you go to the enter meter readings part of the website, don't automatically assume 01 is day rate and 02 is E7 rate - check with YE. It depends how your meter admin was originally set up by the meter admin company.0 -
Monday mornings are mad for most call centres so really try and avoid calling then if you can.I am not a financial adviser and neither do I play one on television. I might occasionally give bad advice but at least it's free.
Like all religions, the Faith of the Invisible Pink Unicorns is based upon both logic and faith. We have faith that they are pink; we logically know that they are invisible because we can't see them.0 -

They do know about the problem and intend to improve things, but the timescale is not known. It would be far better just to remove this feature because without a series of meter readings it can only be inaccurate and misleading.0 -
In the process of leaving YE - got the "sorry you are leaving us" email this morning.
I'm a bit disturbed as they seem to have got the "final meter readings" process the wrong way round.
They are asking me to provide THEM with the final figure ,which they will forward to the new supplier. If I don't give them the final figure they may use an estimate!
What happened to switches are new supplier led ??0 -

I know what you mean. When I left Powershop to join YE I decided to send my final meter readings to both suppliers, even though as you say, it's the joining supplier that is supposed to drive the process.
I took the view that if both leaving and gaining suppliers got the readings, then when the verification thumbs up came from the independant intermediary company, there would be less chance of a problem.
My switch went through without any problems.0 -
Good prices and good reviews, seemed too good to be true. Joined YE and was told to watch out for welcome emails. After one week was told they couldn't find my application, was told the plan I signed up for was no longer available but there was another slightly more expensive one with exit fee, I said I would go elsewhere but then they did find my application ( no one had actioned it so that's how much they value your custom) which they let me have and said he would give me £15 credit for the inconvenience ( two customer reps have told me this is unlikely to happen). It has taken around six weeks for them to get in touch about this matter but I missed the call I have asked them to get in touch again so let's see.
I telephoned my opening reads into them to save any confusion with night and day reads I even confirmed the reads about a week later. I then had a email saying because I hadn't given my reads in time they would use "industry standards" to estimate them. Another phone call confirmed they had got the reads and again it seemed no one could be bothered to enter them on the system, got that sorted the reads we're correct on the app so I have just sent my first reads and my bill now shows the day and night reads have been reversed. After sending photos of the meter and reads they are now, I think, trying to say its my meter that us the wrong way round. Eon, Scottish power, have had no problem with my meter they could tell the difference between the day and night figures. Also they don't call back when they say they will I have sent a email asking for confirmation on something which has not warranted a reply so you make your own mind up, cheaper is not always better. God knows how they have got such a high rating. Just hope they can redeem themselves by getting this matter sorted quick, I am not hopeful nor impressed .0
