    My deal is coming to an and, so I did a comparison check and I moved to AVRO - the savings though small - were just too much to pass. I had a good experience with YE - i'm hoping for the same with AVRO.



    Billing for energy isn't rocket science - I don't foresee a problem.

    I'm about nine tenths of the way through switching from Affect (Octopus) to Yorkshire Energy and it has been a perfectly smooth transition with no hitches so far. The reason I'm moving is simply because YE offered me a better tariff.

    Having said that, I switch almost every year and have never had a problem. Perhaps I have been lucky.

    Joined a year ago without any problems.

    I have not had any problems during the year.

    The web site is basic but has everything you need to know.

    I have not had to contact them during the year so can't comment on how easy that is.

    My first year is now up and YE are automatically switching me to their cheapest alternative tariff, Green Gazelle, which is the same tariff that the Energy Club says is the second cheapest renewable only, fixed tariff. So extra points to YE for not trying to catch me out if I stay. I think this will be the first time in many years that I have not had to swap at the end of the first year. Oh and the auto renew has no early exit fees.
  • The switch was hitch free and on the one occasion I telephoned my query was answered promptly and with due regard to my hearing difficulties. My holiday period spanned the reading submission date and my readings were submitted prior to departure. The actual figures were used plus an accurate estimate for the remaining few days.

    I note that an early transfer fee has appeared on subsequent tariffs. A pity: it was the absence of such a fee which attracted me to Yorkshire.
  • I emailed them a simple question a few days ago and still haven't heard back. Is this normal?

    Emails re meter reads went fine
    Instant bill updates from meter reads that took my previous supplier at least a week to generate
    Overall very happy and actually paying less than I have paid for a few years

    I emailed them a simple question a few days ago and still haven't heard back. Is this normal?

    I am now into my second year with them. No real problem but I queried the credit balance I had accumulated and the reply to my e-mails took on average about a week.

    From what others have posted (and my own experience) customer service via telephone is good.

    Maybe give them a call if you need a speedy answer.
  • Thanks. It wasn't an urgent question, hence my emailing it. Just checking it will probably get dealt with at some point!
