  • The RAC have not followed their own complaints procedures and after giving their final decision have not offered any further mechanism for dispute resolution. It says on the RAC website they will do this once they make a final decision...... They have not responded to two emails asking if they would agree to ODR or the Financial Ombudsman Service...... The financial Ombudsman Service have accepted this product was insurance based due to the product receipt saying it is.... complaint under way .....
  • If anyone else has lost thousands of pounds as a result of their worthless product please get in touch. The RAC said in a call recording that my case is not the only one ...... How many other consumers have been duped and conned by the RAC ?? ................
  • And finally if you are going to reply with some negative unhelpful armchair assessment and tell me its all my own fault then please move along to troll another thread :) .....

Just an update on the background.... The Police now have the car for forensics. Its not the only one sold from the same address and they have details of the cloner criminal and are to carry out an arrest .....

The celebrity "endorsement" is a red herring. Even if they fraudulently used QW's words and image without permission, and even if their intention was to deceive (two quite difficult things to prove) it is still likely to constitute nothing more than an advertising code breach.

Your issue will be making a claim against the RAC and gathering relevant evidence to ensure you give your case the best possible chance. I would concentrate on that and forget the QW issue (which is his issue, not yours). Start by consulting a Solicitor.

It's a cliche, but ...... why post if you just want people to agree with you?

This thread is just going round in circles, as you seem to be.
  • I agree with cornucopia. You have two issues. One is they may or may not have used Quentin's words without his permission. The second is you are 17K down due to RAC trying to wriggle out of their (possible) commitments. One of these is vastly more important than the other, yet you seem completely focused on the Quentin Wilson issue.

If I were you I'd drop this QW nonsense now, its up to him to take further if he believes he has a case. You need to get advice on the actual consumer rights issue at hand with regards to whether you are owed 17k by the RAC.

Concentrate on that and the guys on here will become very useful.

Nobody is saying you haven't been ripped off. You seem to be faffing about blaming Quentin Wilson personally when it's got absolutely nothing to do with him.

That's what people are trying to tell you but you keep harping on about what Quentin may or may not have said.

Focus on the correct target and may may well get pertinent advice.
