Did the so called endorsement simply repeat views that Quentin had expressed previously (such as in the article link in one of the above posts) or was it made up? I still can't believe though that you used the RAC check just because of Quentin's endorsement

That doesn't change the fact though that you ran a vehicle check on a completely different car which was not stolen so the RAC don't owe you anything

Did I say I used the Car check JUST because of Quentins endorsement ?????? It had lifted an article and image as you will see from my post of Quetins comments to me. Did anyone JUST buy bitcoins because Martin Lewis had been put on the webpage ??

The fact that the vehicle check says it checks if the vehicle is a clone.... A clone is a car with false identity..... it says it checks that the car isnt a clone...... The agent on the phone told me it checks if the car is a clone and if it was I could claim on the guarantee ..... I did everything the car check told me to do

I really don't understand what this has got to do with Quentin Wilson or why he would get involved?

As far as I can see you have a complaint that the advert was potentially misleading. That appears to have been clarified and subsequently rectified.

What this has to do with their guarantee I can't quite fathom out.

I just wondered where you got the idea that windscreen VINs are tamper proof? I thought they were just an addition VIN placed there for convenience. Seen it many times on the TV, they are usually the easiest VIN to change. Often a new VIN is just typed on a bit of card and then pushed down between the dashboard and windscreen to cover the original

I didnt get any ideas... I just followed the instructions. Where did the RAC get the idea just to enter the windscreen vin to check its not a clone is more to the point. It just so happens this vehicle is supposed to have tamer proof windscreen to stop this and in this case the winscreen was removed and a high quality replacement VIN that not even the dealership could identify as a fake was attached . The rules regarding vins are that they must be indelible and tamperproof. So windscreen VINs fail under the construction and use regulations.
  • A few years ago I bough a house built by a national builder, who used a celeb flying in a helicopter. I never made money on it and want now to sue that celeb for misguiding me?

You are correct. The only thing it has to do with the guarantee is in respect of its advertisment which is what my post is about.... Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Regulations 2008.

Nothing like this ........... Martin Lewis has been used in the same way.
  • The only thing I can find from the RAC about the passport scheme is that it is offered to businesses.

    This is a B2B transaction?

There are a few fake money making scams from dodgy websites that suggest links, yes!

RAC Passport is a B2B transaction, that does not apply. Due Diligence comes first!
