At least I kept track this month, that's really all there is to say!

Bring on September with a higher budget and hopefully a better disciplined and consistent approach!

  • what a great set of tips :) Good luck everyone.. I'm tracking spend just now :)
  • Best wishes Elsie & Berries.

Did anyone see 'The Secret Life of Landfill' - bleedin madness. I'm going to be doing a 3 day water fast - 'JUST water for 3 days' - so no landfill for me - starting now. I've done 36 hours in the past, and I could have eaten my arm. I would stand at the fridge door and stare at the contents, like some starved waif. I'll be out Saturday & Sunday also, no food, no alcohol, I'm gonna be a bundle of joy, but hey, if I lose my last 6lbs, I will be happy. That's not the only reason I'm doing this - [STRIKE]yeah whatever[/STRIKE] it has a ton of health benefits. Anyway - have a lovely w/e everyone. Just a spend of £2.70 for me. Have updated sig.

    Hi Pip

Thanks for the kind words and yours sounds awful! There's no follow up appointment for mine sadly, as I really wanted to ask about a boot - it's ridiculous really, I can get about better (if more painfully) without the crutches, but they said I had to keep the weight off it. No indication of how long or anything - wonderful! I'm using the crutches outside of the home but at home I don't bother as my house is pretty small so it's only ever a few steps and also there isn't a lot of room for crutch use really! I am in a pretty bad mood with it all to be honest, as I'm missing all the gym classes I usually do, I do 5 a week normally so I'm really feeling the loss!

Sorry to hear you're out of action elsiepac. My DD2 also fractured her metatarsal bone about five years ago. The crutches were a nightmare and at first she cried, because she couldn't do it; and to get to school there was a steep hill. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but she had to keep the weight off her foot for several weeks if I remember rightly; and it took about six weeks to heal. No fun at all!

Have updated post as of 10.36 @ 24/08 with latest spends.

Just realized it's the bank holiday, so will stick with 36 hours and do the 3 day one another time. Happy bank holiday w/e everyone.

  • Hi all,

Spent the following since my last post

    £12.50 Tesco
    £2.20 Tesco
    £68.47 Tesco

That leaves me at £236.76/£500, with only one more big shop to go.

I'll update my spends after my shop tomorrow and then think about setting a target for September.

    Thanks
  • £11.98 spent since last post.

Sweet and sour vegetable brown rice for dinner tonight.

    £187.65/£155.
    £32.65 over.

I'm sure we can stay under £217 (That works out at £7/day)

Looking healthy this month so far!

Another £157.45 spent. Total £338.77. £11.23 left but we have friends coming for dinner Sunday. Will shop Sunday for that, doing a roast so may be able to get something YS. I have some rhubarb and pastry so might have to make a pie for dessert. Maybe get some strawberries. Should make it so pretty pleased as we had granddaughter for a week and a 4 night camping trip to cater for.
