Just been totalling up the spends for the month, should manage to come in around £400 which is my usual spend, so not as low as I wanted but not bad considering it's the summer holidays.

£33.30 spent between the market (fish, veg, fruit, cakes for visiting friends) and the bakery (bread) today. I'm expecting to spend another £20 tomorrow, £10 with the butcher and £10-ish on cheese, as the queue was too long at the cheese stall this morning & I was in a hurry. I'm still fairly well inside my budget for food, toiletries etc. but WAAAY over on vehicle maintenance - both vehicles have cost us over £500 - each - to get through their MoTs this month, which has been a bit of a squeeze & twice what I'd thought, and the kittens are due to be spayed next month, which is going to hurt me as much as it hurts them. But not as much as more kittens would...

Puzzled as to why the new vets won't tell me how much to allow; it used to be a straightforward price, but now it's "We'll send you a quote the week before"... Something tells me it's going to be at least twice as much as the old vets (sadly retired now) charged, and may have something in common with a piece of string & how much they think I can afford...

Eeek, it's quiet in here! Or has nearly everyone had an NSD? I didn't, today; £13.33 spent on fresh fruit & veg as a top-up. I still haven't done the non-perishables run to L!dls, as we've been putting Cluckingham Palace together today; maybe tomorrow? I do need to go before we run out of loo roll...
Just reading this thread as I'm thinking of Joini g the next one and wanted to see how it ran......my chicken coop is called Cluckingham Palace and my son in law bought me a slate sign to hang on the door with it inscribed on:rotfl:

£17.36 duly spent at the market on meat & cheese. I'm not quite ready to declare for August yet, as I'd expect to have to top up bread & bananas mid-week, and we may yet have a visit from His Nibs's twin brother & very-allergic nephew, which would mean laying in a few extra supplies. But as things stand, I'm quietly confident of coming in under-budget.

Now we need a couple of very restrained months to catch up before the festive season strikes...

I have spent £2.28 today at Morrisons and £24.74 at Ocado.
I also had a spend at B and M, but I can't remember for how much although it included wraps.

Total is £27.02 plus whatever the B and M spend was, I will add this later

Another £157.45 spent. Total £338.77. £11.23 left but we have friends coming for dinner Sunday. Will shop Sunday for that, doing a roast so may be able to get something YS. I have some rhubarb and pastry so might have to make a pie for dessert. Maybe get some strawberries. Should make it so pretty pleased as we had granddaughter for a week and a 4 night camping trip to cater for.

Declaring at £355.35 after an Aldi shop today. Happy with the £5.35 over given the extras this month.

    See you all in September

    Oooops...

I should know better by now - never go into a supermarket with an Offspring in tow. I needed two items, bread & Greek yogurt, and to be fair a third (cream) is kind of necessary in order to make this evening's meal & to finish up the scones she made yesterday, but I didn't need £20.35 worth of stuff! And there will still be bananas to acquire in a day or two. It should have been under £7... We buy the 1l pots of Fage, currently £4 in W8rose, which is our closest supermarket; there's also a Co-op but they don't do Fage, and that's what works best in our style of cooking. Plus a £1 pot of single cream and the bread that OH likes best at £1.25. And we've ended up with chamomile hand wash (there's chamomile all over my allotment!) crisps, strawberries, exotic teas and heaven knows what. She's given me £10 towards it, and I could have put my foot down & said "NO" to some of it, but it's nice to enjoy her company for a bit & I didn't want to spoil the moment.

We did actually have cream, until one of the kittens got into the tub as we scoffed our scones yesterday... not much left & I wouldn't eat it now anyway! Said kitten doesn't seem to have come to any harm, luckily.

Anyway, still on track, but not so comfortably now...
