    Curious. I had no problem getting a quote - I did it multiple times while I was trying to decide.

    When you ask them for a quote, you first put in your post code, then whether you want elec, or gas or dual fuel, then you choose your address.

    Are you asking for separate quotes for gas and elec. rather than dual fuel?

    I'm very glad to say after a long silence from Octopus, that I have finally transferred my Electric to the Yorkshire Energy Green Butterfly 12M Fixed rate today.
    I still have to settle with Iresa/Octopus who owe me a few pounds credit after my usage with them from Aug 1st until today . I am so glad I initiated the swap immediately at the beginning of the process with YE, it was thought at one time I wouldn't be able to transfer until mid September, however common sense has prevailed and I didn't lose the YE deal, Phew!

    Wish I'd initiated the transfer earlier, only submitted my transfer request this week, so will be with Octopus for a while yet.

    It then gives me an option to select my address from a drop down that shows all addresses in my post code area. I select my address but it then rather than populating the single drop down I had it populates my address into a confrim your elecricity address which is fine but then underneath in the confrim your gas address there are only three properties listed in the drop down none of which are mine

    Hmmm. Not sure what that means. Maybe that they're looking at some database that doesn't have a gas meter recorded against your address. Odd, if you do have one.

    Having disputed the final bill Octopus sent I'm really pleased that they have quickly sent me another email agreeing that instead of me being over £100 in debit, I am actually over £100 in credit. I didn't work it out to the penny but they have offered more than I was estimating so that's fine.

    Now to look for a new supplier. I'm unwell so this is taking me time but I will get there.

    It is very odd, when confirming on the drop down for electricity there are nineteen houses including mine which I expect is about right for my exact post code. The gas drop down has only three addresses listed.


    I have been with EON, British Gas, Iresa and Octopus in less than five years and not had a problem with switching to any of these suppliers so think this is going to be a non starter.

    Just tried to change to Eversmart. They've sent the joining pack with wrong address and so wrong meters. Hopeless. I shall cancel.
