I've had DD emails from them.

Asking you to set up DD ? Or telling you that they are taking money via the "old" Iresa DD?
I've heard nothing at all - the only thing that has changed in the last 4 weeks since I started the move away, is that the tariff details have vanished from the account on the Octopus website. My new supplier has taken the first DD but no sign of the start read which I supplied about 2 weeks ago.

Telling me the amount they're taking via the old DD.
  • I read my meters on 5th September and have just had a bill off Octopus (I did contact them a few times for this). I wanted to check my credit had been transferred over from Iresa and that their figures agreed with mine, which they do. I will pay what is owing today as I am not going to set up a DD which they have asked me to do. I am due to switch on the 29th.

Have you been asked to give an opening read to your new supplier? If not , then you will owe Octopus a further amount for the period from 5th Sept til the c/over read and date of switch.:)
  • Hi brewerdave, no not been asked for opening reading yet. I appreciate I still owe from 5th September until I switch to Breeze. Just wanted to check their figures and mine agreed and get my account up to date so I know all I will owe is approx 24 days if everything goes to plan.

I've just got my final account from Octopus, as I've now switched to Eversmart.

I'm pleased to say that it is correct! The credit balance transferred from Iresa is correct and my consumption for the 39 odd days that I was with them is also correct (I sent them opening and closing meter reads which they have used)

They owe me just over £5, which they say they will transfer into my bank account. Not quite sure how they are going to do that, as I never set up a DD with them. We shall see!

This happened when the Coop became the SoLR for the failed GBEnergy.
