Brexit the economy and house prices part 6

It's entirely possible, but the politicians would really have to consult the public once again. We could even move much closer to the USA. Certainly, I think I can trace more of my income to American companies. So much of the business in the UK has elements of American companies within it.
American companies are absolutely eyeing up a very lucrative market should the NHS be opened up.
Having lived in the US and enjoying a long hospital stay; no good can come of American involvement in our NHS.
My income is fairly split, but I don't think most would want to align more to the US. The Tories would because individual and worker rights, and food/safety standards are appaling compared to ours.
Plus whilst we share a root language, we don't have as much in common with America as it looks; culturally we're a lot closer to Europe despite the language barriers.
Plus the US is an awful lot further away than most of Europe.0 -
Nonsense. There have always been opportunities to work in Europe and there always will be.
My group of ten uni friends were saying something along the same lines as you posted. Of them 3 have lived and worked in Africa in various countries, one has lived and worked in Canada, and another is moving to Aus next year. None of them have lived and worked in Europe.
So it's pretty obvious that a. there are the opportunities to work anywhere and b. the EU is not the be all and end all.
It's just brainwashing really.
Yep, that about sums it up I think. As economic woes mount in the EZ even the most deluded remainer will forget about there ever being a second referendum, most people will then accept that we escaped just in time IMO.0 -

I reckon the UK will stay in the EU now. There seems to be no alternative proposed from the Leaving Country, in their arrogance and hubris.
But we never know do we? Whatever deal (if there is one) cannot be better than that applicable to the remaining EU countries.
So square that circle someone!0 -
The idea that this would happen without retaliation is facile.
On the same basis, we could grind Eire into the dust should we see fit. That's the way power plays go.
To me, that is a totally despicable comment really. But it just shows me what some fanatics are like.
Shame on you.0 -
The Irish are quite capable of grinding themselves in the dust. Varadkar and Coveney are too stupid to realise that the EU are using them as useful idiots. As soon as they've served their purpose, the EU will revive their calls for them to raise their corporation tax rates and to collect €13bn from Apple.
Another despicable comment from the jingoists. Shame on you. I am speechless at the hubris.
Why did UK not have a low CT regime? Answer me that.
Ah, no but blame everyone else. Typical.0 -

Interesting remark from someone who doesn't hold back on his opinion of those he disagrees with. I could rephrase it to appease your delicate sensibilities but the meaning would be exactly the same.
If you cannot see that the one country which stands to lose the most from a no deal outcome is being played by Brussels, you are indeed blind.
And the UK does have one of the most benign CT rates in the EU but my post had nothing to do with that.0
