    This is essentially it really.

The media (and some usually comfortable types) are very quick to point out any racist/xenophobic commentary about EU citizens or boat people or rioters in Calais etc.

Those same people then openly pour derision and hatred on fellow Brits in the parts of the UK they heartily dislike.

There isn't a day which passes without LBC mouth James O Brien pinning the problem on Gammons. He loves migrant callers ringing in, indulging in their views that it isn't their fault they are harder working and brighter than the locals.

All you end up with is a split society, and inevitably this feeds through to our political class.

I think we are bound to see more MPs selected on very narrow grounds. It's just a matter of time.

I did. Wasn't it the answer you wanted? I seem to remember I've explained all this to you before. Post 2613 this thread:-

Just pointing out the irony that the very people who voted for brexit will also be the most affected by brexit and are the least likely to have the entrepreneurial skills and dynamism to change their lives to deal with the consequences. Perhaps I'm wrong of course....in a few months time we might have thousands of brexiteers starting up new companies and negotiating new trade deals with Singapore!

    "Very few" ... 17.4 million!

    Sir James Dyson.
    Tim Martin.
    Anthony Bamford (JCB).
    Theo Paphitis.
    Bernie Ecclestone.
    Duncan Bannatyne.
    Simon Wolfson (Next).
    Dame Helena Morrissey (L&G)

Would you like me to keep going; I could (as you know).
Yep, "least likely to have entrepeneurial skills" that little selection.

Tbh, if the economy had a reset button I would be hitting CTRL-ALT-DEL now.

Of course a default exit would be difficult.

As a nation, we then have a choice. Either cry about it, or roll our sleeves up and rediscover the spirit of endeavour.

The technology world is going to change far faster than most people seem to think. The days of a mass migration fuelled big workforce of low earning working slaves are numbered.
  • Leavers from day 1 argued the EU would give us the best third country deal on the planet. Remainers mocked this as fantasy thinking.

A few minutes ago Mrs Merkel and Tusk said the UK will be treated very differently than any other third country when it comes to the trade deal. Barnier repeated the deal will be deep and special.

    Once again Project Fear predictions fail to materialise;

    Herzlos 05/10/2017
We're not getting free trade without contributing and taking all 4 freedoms. We don't want that. What compromise is there?

Remainers said just after the vote that UK manufacturing would suffer due to fall in Sterling as we 'rely' on imported parts and raw materials. Over and again this was asserted.

Why are receiving the worlds second highest inwards investment (1st 6 months of this yr) by expert investors if as you say tough times lay ahead?
    Are these investors stupid?

United Nations Conference on Trade and Development - during the first 6 months of 2018, UK secured the 2nd highest level of inward investment on the planet @ $65.5bn
