  • So, just to clarify from the Leave people, at what point do the EU roll over and give us most of what we want because they need us more than we need them? And where are all these other trade agreements you were promising?

You've all been predicting this for the last two years, but now it just looks very much like we're about to step off a cliff.
You do know nothing has really happened yet & it's not March 2019 don't you?
You do also know that no trade deals can be arranged until after the UK leaves the EU, don't you?
So you're looking for what cannot yet exist.
    Try again after we've left.

And do you mean that it looks like a WTO Brexit?
    Yes it does.
Blame both sides for not having the guts to actually want to do a deal.
    *Reality check*
The UK won't fall off any cliff edge.
Things will carry on pretty much as before.
Of course if you choose to believe premonitions by those with agendas go ahead.
I wonder if you're one that filled the bath with water and otherwise prepared for the chaos that was supposedly coming from the Millenium Bug too?

The EU will start to turn the screw now:-
According to a story (paywall) by Financial Times’ Mehreen Khan, at his meeting with EU ambassadors today Michel Barnier, the EU’s chief Brexit negotiator, said the EU was going to take a tough line with the UK on security in the next stage of the talks (ie, the ones firming up the future relationship, after the UK leaves in March 2019). Khan said:

Mr Barnier dismissed the UK’s demand to maintain access to the EU’s internal security system, including its passenger name recognition database, Europol and Eurojust. He said no other country outside the Schengen free travel area enjoyed such a level of access. “The UK does not accept all the consequences of its status as a third country”, Mr Barnier said, according to the note.

Has Britain access to the USA ESTA security system including its passenger name recognition.

    Answer NO.

So why be upset if Britain gets the same treatment from the EU.

Cherry picking and cake and eat it come to mind.
Why do you think that Britain should be given any special privaliges.

You wanted Brexit, are you are beginning to regret it.

You get a deal, don’t read it and reject it.

Barnier has not said it but I am sure he thinks

WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU PEOPLE.
There will be no Brexit dividend for Britain.

PM May once again stated that she was not preparing for No Deal yesterday.

I find this to be an incompetent attitude.

We should be spending a significant amount of time and money on No Deal preparation.

    It's pragmatic, not ideological.

You really have no idea what Five Eyes is do you? Kindly explain how the EU is one of the five?

It’s a Marvel film coming out next year after Brexit.

My problem is "EU was going to take a tough line with the UK on security" not really the actions of someone wanting a close relationship.

First Are you sure he said ANYTHING of the kind.

Business is planning for no deal. That's enough at the current time. A few weeks makes little difference. May has enough to deal with elsewhere.

Ditto if you're really interested or you could always ask the publishing sources.

    Really?

Do you want to know what they had for breakfast too?

It's been widely covered in UK media though perhaps not in Spain or Luxembourg apparently.
Funnily enough you always find the anti-Brexit pieces from UK media that you want though.

There's so much wrong in there I don't know where to start!
In fact as from past experience you ignore being corrected anyway I won't even waste the electrons other than to say:
"Barnier has not said it but I am sure he thinks:
If they go for this they're bigger suckers than we thought!

  • "Europe has economic woes of its own beyond Brexit"
Gross domestic product in Europe's biggest and most important economy contracted by 0.2% during the quarter, worse than most economists had been predicting, representing a contraction of 0.8% on an annualised basis.
Elsewhere in Europe, there are other storm clouds over the economy.

Cue distraction therapy from the remainer camp.
