    Limited in what way?

My understanding is that an Eire passport will grant a citizen the same rights in the EU27 as any other EU passport. If ours weakens (which is must do), then an Eire passport will convey more rights/privileges than a UK passport. Not insignificant things like not needing a VISA waiver, and being able to use the "EU Citizens only" fast track / automated queues.

I doubt that any of the surge of Eire passport applications are in order to move to Eire (not needed at this stage), but then I'd also assume that those applying for the passports are likely to be net contributors and a benefit to the Eire economy, especially if they are needed to fill jobs that are moving from UK back into the Eurozone.

PS Have you ever travelled on German trains? For your information I visit Germany frequently and do have some knowledge of using its infrastructure.

I have, including a few S and U-Bahns and whilst they look pretty rough they all seem to run pretty well. Much better, I'd say, than the horror stories of Southern English trains (which I haven't had to use), and seem to be largely better than the British trains I have used.

I don't think your accusations about glass houses makes any sense; our infrastructure is embarrassing when compared to most '1st world' countries, but pretty lousy in isolation too. Just because, for instance, Spain has more potholes or Germany spends less, doesn't mean we don't need to do anything.

I also don't think anyone is refusing to acknowledge the problems from elsewhere; just that we're not using them to try and claim everything is good here. We can do so much better. Brexit could be a great opportunity to kick start that, but where's the vision?

Thanking of posts appears to be based on a point scoring basis for team Brexit or team Remain. Personally I prefer to thank a post when I find it useful even if its against my own argument.

Difficult to comment on some posts, i.e.
I see no potholes in German roads.

Issues with German infrastructure are well documented. Not seeing something personally suggests one lives in a gated community.

FTSE very strong, someone betting on a brexit in name only deal in the near future?

Fall in prices offers buying opportunties. London markets are on lower ratings than international ones. Offer a better yield too. With in some cases no currency risk.

Not really, it is a global rally.

A passport alone doesn't grant all rights automatically across Europe.

Assume that the same people will cause food shortages etc in the event of a hard brexit. Tin hats to the ready. Interesting how nationalism is growing once again across Europe. The one thing that the creation of the EU was supposed to eradicate.

To be awarded the Irish passport they'd be full citizens of Ireland with everything that entails.

As much I like the country and the people. Not somewhere that I could live and work. Very limited opportunties.
