cheers, will get travelex to match since they have gone down to $1.81 and i rather pick from the airport.
  • We are going on holiday in September and have a significant amount of dollars left from our holiday last year. (don't ask why we did not spend them!)

This year we are going to France. Where is the best place to change these dollars into euro in one transaction, I am assuming somewhere in Framce? Do there Hyermarkets change travellers cheques?

Or would anyone suggest depositing these dollars in a US bank account somewhere, gaining interest until the next time we go? ( We have family in the US, so the chances of going over there in the next 5 years is high)

Can i suggest the best thing to do with them would be to work out exactly how many you have and then sell them to me. I will pay more than any high street or bank could offer you for them.

I'm off to NY on Tuesday and after reading the previous posts I'm wondering what to do for the best. I was thinking of getting $1000 from Travelex but I'm now thinking of getting a little for cash transactions and using a credit or debit card for purchases over there instead (sadly I don't have a nationwide card!).
