late starts vary by office. just now im approx 45 minutes later however this is because the last missort run is failing and not getting to my office.
so i should be more like 1 hour 45 later
also your postie may have had to change the order the duty is done.i have had to reverse my duty around

however in my office there is a sunday shift in place this week to sort what we call townb mail.so sorting mail into postcodes.
this is mail centre work that delivery offices usually do over xmas.
i can only assume this is to try and give the mail centres a push/break towards clearing

No that's more likely to be the new regular delivery times - part of the reason for the strike in the first place was that postmen were being asked to start work later in the day and thus finish later. Presumably there was some form of unsocial hours allowance they'll no longer get - and those with a second job later in the day would have to give it up.

please dont make assumptions on the issues of the strikes without a little research.the finacial side of the later starts was not the issue.
yes there was and early shift allowance of about £10/week IIRC but theres bigger issues than that.
as for 2nd jobs do all postal workers have one? did i miss that memo

I'm waiting for one Ebay purchase that was posted on the 10th or 11th October.

A DVD hasn't turned up either, or some Vouchers, but everything else is coming through.

My post in East London seems OK. For missing ebay items I would stick by what I said on another thread, if the seller is in full communication and responds politely and appears to be taking this seriously wait a while longer before asking for a refund. If the seller stops responding, or ignores you completely go straight to paypal and chargeback. Whatever you do though don't get too close to the 45 day limit.

How long should the buyer have to wait? I have refunded 2 buyers for items posted on 14th October. However I have not received an item sent to me 24 days ago. I contacted seller twice to say it hadn't arrived but I was aware of the delays. Second time (10 days ago) he told me was going on holiday until 5 November and to contact him after that. On checking he has been leaving feedback for others so isn't away.
Contacted him again last night to say still no sign, got a reply this morning telling me to wait another month while he claims from RM. Sent a polite reply back saying I felt it unfair to have to wait another month. Had another one back written all in capitals, basically saying he's had people trying it on every week for the last 2 years so for the last few months he doesn't refund until parcel is either found or refunded by RM. And because of Paypal/Ebay fees he makes losses if he refunds. Is it reasonable to wait another month as that will take me way over the Paypal deadline. This is the first time I have had an item go missing and I have 100% feedback so am clearly not a scammer!

yes its unreasonable.you can either rerequest from him or file item not recieved via paypal in which case you are almost 100% to get the refund

becky, put in a full paypal chargeback as soon as your seller has auctions ending. You do not have to wait for him to reclaim from the RM and any seller who expects their buyer to let the 45 day paypal chargeback window go by makes me suspicious.

I didn't want to just jump in and ask for a refund, I haven't even asked for one in my emails, just let him know that item still hadn't arrived. I was a bit put out that he claimed to be away but wasn't, but maybe he'd been having lots of emails from other buyers about missing items and was fed up.
It just seems he's now "throwing the fool further" by telling me to wait another month, by which point he knows I won't be able to claim via Paypal.
Is there a chance that it still might arrive? I would like to have the item and have no wish to open a dispute unless absolutely necessary as I've never opened one before for myself (have opened a couple for NPB's). I haven't responded to his capital letter email but was planning to respond along the lines of........... I'm happy to wait 1 more week to see if the item arrives, but after this I would like to be refunded. Although judging by the tone of his last email he is not going to be agreeable on this.

Emailed seller and said I was willing to wait another week, but if it doesn't arrive I would then like to be refunded and not wait over 50 days. Got another back in capitals. Telling me that "as a seller myself I should know what the Paypal fees are and their high, and that if X amount of people a month ask for a refund he would lose money, and as I sell myself I shouldn't have a problem with waiting, as he has had to wait months for refunds for items he never got. He is not giving me a refund until he gets the money from RM and if I don't like that he'll do what others do and make me claim of RM myself"!
