Morning all. Aren't the holidays great. I've never worked in education before so the different hours etc during the hols is quite the novelty and I'm only part time anyway.

Flying today. - water garden (already done) and put the recycling out in addition to dailies,.

I am having a day out in York with DS.

    Have a great day everyone.
Spend less now, work less later.

Well the house looks like a bomb has hit it as DH and I made a really good effort in clearning out the loft on Friday and Sunday. We have done 3 trips to the tip and 2 charity shop trips already and I have still loads of stuff to go through which is currently lining the halls, dining room, bedroom, landing :D So flying will also include the sorting of this stuff as I go.

I'm sorry, but it is w-a-a-a-y too hot for Flying. I am feeling ill with the heat. :(

I'm cross with Mr LW, he's killed the pc keyboard by spilling something on it. Luckily @mazon have an exact replacement so I can get that using some of my vouchers rather than my hard-earned - does this keep me on the straight and narrow with Scrimpers? :o

I also added some more of Mr LW's anti-snoring spray to the order to make it up to over £20 as I object to paying P&P. ;)

Such a lovely day. Despite the heat I have managed some gentle fluttering, and the kids haven't had any screen time at all yet today so I feel like I'm winning at life :)

In more exciting news, I've paid my credit card off :j such a relief.

Right I'm off to make DH packed lunch for tomorrow, have lovely evenings all xx

  • WM on. Himself dispatched to get some more powder (we can do without fabric softener until it's on special offer).

Bit of vacuuming done upstairs by Himself.

Lots of sitting on the settee in front of the fan done. And I did my nails, which are looking pretty good now the chipped polish is off, they've been filed and I've removed the stains on them with whitening toothpaste.

Will be watering plants and then eating a complete carb fest (macaroni cheese, chips and salad) before doing next to nothing again, but in my defence, I did do most of today's at the weekend, so feel pretty relaxed at present. The G&T I'm sipping possibly helps with that...

But it actually seems to have cooled down a couple of degrees now (only 29C/84F inside ), so might get a bit more done later - the bed needs remaking now I've washed the white linen, and I might be very daft and stick two freezer blocks in it at bedtime.

I'm not looking forward to the time when I start getting hot flushes, I can tell you.
I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.

FBO well done on the run. I think I'm postponing it until it is cooler as I don't do 'early'.
Valli great video, I should have dropped in while I was in your area last week!
Pigpen fantastic on the slinky front, throw me a few tips (or do I mean low-calorie crumbs?).
Froddington I do feel for you as we are a few years ahead of you with MIL. All I can hope for you, if it has to be dementia, is that your mum is like MIL i.e. not upset, violent, depressed or any of the other emotions/reactions which can sometimes happen. We keep reminding ourselves that she appears calm, happy, accepts that she forgets most things and seems to accept that MrN will call in most days and organise her. We seem sadly past the stage that if we put reminders up she will look at them, or lists in the hope she will read them - the teacher in me hoped at one time that we could "retrain" her to use calendars etc but it doesn't happen. We got her a fantastic clock which displays day, time, date, year but although she looks at it, the information doesn't register or seemingly relate to activities. We now practice acceptance of whatever she seems to need. I'm sorry that isn't meant to make you feel depressed; and I hope you have people who can support you even if it is friends to talk to - you are welcome to contact me if it helps.
Sorry off topic although relating to a lot of people here it seems.

Started the morning sorting emails etc.
Went to gym (coolest place) and did 2 classes.
Went to dentist (car was 35degrees when I got in, despite having left windows open).
Joined Mr N and MIL for coffee and cake (sure the dentist would have been thrilled).
e-mailed to try and book afternoon tea for Mr N's birthday. I was given a Gr0up0n voucher for my birthday and have had no end of trouble spending it; they were unhelpful on the 'live chat', cafe was booked up when I last rang, ringing the same cafe this morning I was told they don't take phone bookings and I should email, so hopefully something will happen.
Booked lunch with a friend at 2nd choice (1st - the garden place where we had coffee today, are expecting 90 people visiting their gardens on the day I wanted!!!)
Have spent the rest of the day almost-completing my tax return.
Now going out to water plants and maybe plant bulbs we bought at Tatton flower show last week.
Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.
