Thanks DIA. I think I must get a bit complacent at times and just not see things, so it was nice to have that light bulb moment. I'm pleased you've also thought about the small change to your account to save money. Those small amounts all build up when you put them together.
I hope you're feeling better than meh today.0 -
Not much going on today. My oyster card was topped up this morning so I've added that to YNAB. All accounts checked and all on track.
I went to see Can You Ever Forgive Me last night and really enjoyed it. Dark humour, but a really good film. We're hoping to see Vice next but I'm not sure we are both free to make this happen. I was introduced to salt and sweety popcorn last night and I loved that! So that'll be my new film snack for now!
More fruit arrived at the office this morning so I've taken a couple of bits for later. Once the bulk of people get in it doesn't last long.
We are out for work drinks this evening. I can't believe I've been out 3 Thursday evenings in a row! I'm usually very antisocial but feel I need to make the effort tonight as it's new drinks with our colleagues from the other office. I'm hoping it won't cost much, but we'll see.
Tomorrow I'm getting my hair done (budgeted for) and then the radio in the evening. Saturday I have lunch with a friend (in budget) and then have put Sunday and Monday aside for myself. Looking forward to the whole weekend, especially the part where I get to catch up on sleep!
Happy Thursday!

Morning MT,
Glad you enjoyed the film. It is on my list. I joined Cu3zon a while ago and get some free tickets so will be using one to see it.
My work place does a cakes and sweets table that is constantly topped up, but fruit? now that is really looking after your team
Drinks, hair, lunch. Enjoy it all.If you have built castles in the air, your work should not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put the foundations under them

Hello DIA, I don't have any cinemas near me that do the special deals.
It's lovely having free fruit and breakfast. It's such a bonus. Drinks, hair and lunch went well too.0 -
I was dreading doing a YNAB update, but it's all worked out ok. I've overspent a bit, but nothing drastic and I still have time to pull things back to where they should be.
The weekend was crazy. I love having things to do, but it was too full on for me. My whole weekend felt like a tag race. It was lovely having lunch with my friend etc, but I also decided that I should visit my Mum on Sunday and that's a 5am start when I do as she's a 3 hour drive away and I don't like turning up late morning or lunchtime as I only spend the day there. It was still a lovely visit and a lovely weekend though.
This week feels discombobulated for some reason. I think it's probably due to us having a lot of new people working around us. It's lovely having new people around, but just a bit .... discombobulating.
I'm out tonight to see another Oscar nominee. Tonight is The Favourite, although it wasn't easy to find a cinema showing it still. So I'll be off to Piccadilly Circus as soon as I finish work. It'll be a bit of a rush so may need to leave early today.
I've cleared my weekend to get things done at home. Since going part time I don't feel like I've put in practice the reason I went part time again! My house needs lots of attention, so I need to make sure I prioritise that when I'm scheduling things.
Happy Hump Day, all.0 -
Happy Valentines day to all you lovelies out there.
Updating YNAB often is giving me a good insight into my spending habits and where my weak points are. I think I need to keep that going as it's nice to see how obvious those bad traits are.
My last day in the office until next Tuesday and have a busy home weekend planned. I'm looking forward to getting things done and dreading it all at the same time! There's so much I want to do though, which is the dread part.
I went to see The Favourite last night. Not my sort of film, so didn't really enjoy it too much but I can understand how others would really like it.
I'm really hoping for a calm day today. I reached out to a few people in the company we merged with as I want to start getting involved in proper projects again and I know they're desperate for help. It looks like my team manager has nominated our team to do all the menial tasks and cleaning work, and I'm not up for that. We all need to pull together as a department and get everything done, but I don't agree that all menial tasks are assigned to one team who will then struggle to get respect from their peers going forward. Sigh!
Anyway, it's Thursday and it's the day of love so here's sending love to everyone who has read and contributed to any of my diaries, and especially to those who offer unwavering support throughout any and all of our debt free and personal financial journeys. Thank you all.0 -
Hi mt
Happy Valentine's Day . I sent myself a card , and it still hasn't got there . Life is crap sometimesIs that film about horse racing ?
Anyway , try not to let the work stuff get ontop of you . I've been there as you know . Focus on your plans which come first .
Have a good day ..0 -
I hope you get your calm day today.
I am a big Olivia Colman fan but The Favourite doesn't appeal to me.
It isn't fun when you go to work and have to fight for fair work and respect, but you sound as if you are managing things well.

Hello AC. The film wasn't about horse racing
. It was a period drama, (with a difference?).
You did make me smile with your card. Did it arrive eventually? Was it late enough that it was a nice surprise when you saw it?0 -
I did have a calmer day on Thursday DIA, thank you. It actually went by quite quickly too, and now here I am at the beginning of another week!
I hope you had a lovely weekend.0
