Oh no so much about again, hope you feel better soon.

Thank you all. I'm starting to feel human again today. Can't believe how unwell I've been. I'm still off work but planning to be back in (from home) tomorrow.
Not sure what's going on with the house move. We still haven't had a response from our seller's solicitor about some pretty basic stuff. We've given them a deadline to sort it out and may consider pulling out if we don't hear something soon.4 -
Sorry you've been so ill. Really relieved to hear you are starting to feel better. Hope the house move sorts soon too.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Still coughing away here, but feeling much more human now. Was really worried that my taste wasn't going to come back & I was struggling to eat for a while. It's starting to get back to normal now though.
We're still waiting for a moving date. The solicitor has made contact today & there's been a little progress so I'm hoping we can agree a date within the next couple of weeks. More than anything, I'm worrying that our buyer will get fed up of waiting and pull out.
I feel like everything else has been on hold whilst waiting to move, especially the business. I've been wary of taking too many orders in case we move at short notice and can't fulfil them. We need to drum up business now though so we don't miss out on the Christmas trade and we'll work around the logistics as and when the house move eventually happens.
I've really noticed a jump in the grocery bills these last few weeks. The children are getting older & eating more plus we've run down a lot of our freezer stocks ready to move, but the prices seem to be going up with every trip to the supermarket.
It's my birthday next week. I've asked DH not to buy me a present (I think he was eyeing up some beautiful but expensive jewellery) and we'll go for lunch and a bit of shopping instead and I can pick something practical. DC3s jumpers are getting small on him so could also do with getting him a few winter clothes too.6 -
Hi, sorry you are still waiting to move. Each of our last four moves took around six months from offer to completion. All for different reasons. It's awful just waiting and not knowing. Will this be your forever house, do you think? Ours is. Took a long time to get here, but not going anywhere else now, if I can avoid it. Hope you hear soon, and glad you're feeling better, mumtoomany.Frugal Living Challenge 2025.2

Hi @mumtoomany
Yes this will be our forever home. The long term plan is to set up a new business then eventually work from home and build a retirement fund.
That's it, it's the not knowing. If we knew it wouldn't happen for a few months then we could get on with the business etc in the meantime, but at the moment everything is on hold.3 -
Glad you're feeling better, and hope the house move is imminent.
Agree with food costs, even our shop at L*dl seems to be getting more expensive and less food on the shelves.
Hope you have a lovely weekend and enjoy your birthday treat.

Infuriating isn't it! It's a bit of a shareholding isn't it? I've a couple of books here about buying and setting up smallholdings, how/whether to register for animals, how to make money, (haha) etc. Are they of any use to you? If so drop me a message and I'll put them in the post. No use to us now, and trying to declutter a bit. Mumtoomany.Frugal Living Challenge 2025.2

We shop in Lidl mainly too and are also noticing the shortages. Last week we couldn't get wraps, crumpets, or sweetcorn.
@mumtoomany that would be wonderful thank you. Our plan is to use half of the land to let out various accommodation, but that is dependent on planning permission. We need to plan for the rest of the land, and a back up plan incase we don't get the planning permission.3 -
Messaged you. Just noticed you've cleared over a third of the debt. Well done!
